  1. Bid $12/day, accepted by Hertz. $53.20 for the two days including taxes and airport fees or $26.60 per day.
  2. Bid $13 per day. Accepted by Hertz. With airport fees and taxes comes to $22.06 per day for each of the 3 day rental.
  3. Needed to stay at CLT airport.... a fertile bidding opportunity as up to 10 re-bids, if you want to play it. Started with 3* and was going to move to 3.5* if rejected and then 9 re-bid opportunities. But, I bid too high on the 3* and was taken out. Hyatt Place for $50 + $17 in taxes. Used the PRICELINE link. I should have started at $40 or $45 and moved up... regardless, I'm happy with the win!
  4. Guided by others on the forum, I bid $50 for a 3* at the airport, accepted immediately: Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $50.00 Rooms: 2 Nights: 1 + Add nights for the same rate! Room Subtotal: $100.00 Taxes & Fees: $24.88 Total Charged to Card: $124.88 Hyatt Place San Antonio Airport-South San Antonio Airport (SAT) 7615 Jones Maltsberger Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216 210 930 2333 Rental car is next!
  5. Thanks, I went back in and re-bid for 3* at $46 and received immediately. Used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link, thanks!
  6. Thanks for the refresher. I'm a dolt, I should have remembered because I've use that all the time. Again, thanks and sorry!
  7. Looking for Priceline bidding advice. I bid $39 for two 3* hotel rooms for 1/12/2012 (Thursday night). Was denied and invited to immediately re-bid $49. I decided to add hotel class of 3.5* and increase my bid to $45 (yes, it's a game). Was not allowed to submit the bid, which surprised me. Now I'm wondering: what area can I add that doesn't have a 3* or 3.5* hotel so I can re-bid again? Your hotel list says Coons Rapid or Burnsville should be ok (only up to 2.5*) but you also say I can't rely on your list--where can I get a better idea? Thanks.
  8. Was driving to the town so did not have a chance to re-bid. Bid $50 for Fri, Apr 13 and accepted. So happy entended to Sat, Apr 14. Then I got there. 1) No No-Smoking Rooms. They informed me that Priceline reserves you a smoking room, not a non-smoking. Of course, this is not true. It reserves you "a room"--that is all. Changed rooms twice to get less smoke, but ultimately gave up. 2) Poor repair: Falling plaster, etc. Bottom line: I complained to Priceline, got nowhere, so I left after 1 night. This is a horrible hotel for facilities, the people, and the location (way out). I would never stay there unless I am a smoker and I want an old run down hotel. This was my first BAD experience with Priceline--a real eye opener not to trust the * indicator as anything about "quality." Look to the reader ratings.
  9. 1. Was looking for 3 rooms for Sunday night, Nov 12. Needed to be downtown. 2. Bid $70 for 3* hotel. 3. Accepted by Marriott Pittsburgh City Center. 4. Probably could have started lower and beat this but I was in a hurry. Would recommend starting around $55 and then adding Pittsburgh North (no 3 stars at this time) to re-bid. 5. The 4* are being had for $60-80 so could try them first (only 4* region is downtown so lots of free re-bids by adding areas and staying at 4*), then if that does not work, move down to the 3*.
