NEW HOTEL Started bidding 3* at $65 (over a couple of days). Residence Inn sold out, finally got the Aloft at $79 (Rate on their site $152). FYI in case anyone else is bidding the zone, I bid 4* up to 109, The Westin was the only 4* left (Gaylord is sold out). Also there is a 3 1/2 showing up, not sure what it could be (unless either the westin or gaylord was downgraded).

Over the course of a couple days, I started at 75 went up in one dollar increments, got it at $85 for a Saturday night stay.

(The direct rate at the hotel was $129 +tx -- very sweet saving here) Its $79 on Hotels.com.... Also the reviews are not so good, but it is directly across the street from the beach.

Sheraton Yankee Trader Fort Lauderdale Beach will close June 1, 2008 and re-open (est) February 1, 2009 as the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach. Moderators- Please move, edit, delete, etc... I wasn't sure where to put this info.
