  1. Got the Loews Madison on the first try with Downtown and Downtown - White House. $100 * 2 nights + 40.46tax/fee = $240.46 I believe 4.5* in this area was $257 on Hotwire, so this is at least a savings of $17 from that. If I could do it over, I'd consider the Priceline Express 4* Convention Center - US Capitol North Area Hotel for $88 which was probably Renaissance Washington DC Downtown and based on pictures, just as nice.
  2. A couple years late, but completing this thread nonetheless Free parking Free breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Self-service laundry
  3. Looks like I missed the $132 W (and I'm a Gold SPG). Grant Hyatt looks like a good hotel though. $187.38 after taxes Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet Access, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services
  4. $41, $53 after fees I started using the HOTWIRE widget on this site.
  5. Night of 5/24/13 3.5* Park Central - $39 ($52) 3.0* $36 ($49) Add Garland North $39 ($52) Add Richardson $40 ($53) Won Courtyard By Marriott Richardson At Campbell I started with the priceline widget on BB.
  6. Tried on Apr 15 3.5* Market Center - $42 ($56) Irving, Las Colinas - $40 ($53) Knox, Northpark - $42 ($56) 3* - $35 ($48) Fail Tried on Apr 20 Night of 5/25/13 3.5* Market Center - $46 ($60) Crowne Plaza Dallas Market Center WON I started the bid with the PRICELINE widget on BB.
  7. Target date: April 6, 2013 3.5* downtown - $55 3.0* downtown - $55 3.0* downtown, Airport South - $48 3.0* downtown, Airport South, Central - $48 2.5* downtown, Airport South, Central - $40 ($50) 2.5* downtown, Airport South, Central, Southwest - $40 ($50) 2.0* downtown, Airport South, Central, Southwest - $35 ($48) 2.0* Extended Stay America Austin - Metro I searched with the bidding widget on this website.
  8. Started at 3* $55 + ~$15 taxes South Downtown Offered $70 Arboretum $50 - 2.5* $50 - 2* Accepted at Austin (Arboretum) Extended Stay America I probably won't be booking thru BetterBidding until the Priceline/Hotwire widget on this site has a calendar function. I mistyped the month in the widget above, won my bidding, and had to go thru the priceline refund/rebid process. Fee is $25, but mostly it's just a hassle. A calendar would have prevented this from happening, as I would've seen that I wasn't booking a Saturday, but rather a Tuesday. Also, calendars default to the current month, which is what you want the majority of the time.
  9. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Fees: $21.52 Total Charges*: $111.52
  10. A friend booked this hotel so I'm posting the info. Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Laundry. $58, $74 after taxes. Only real option left as Priceline with Downtown area at 3* failed at $90!
  11. Have you checked the TEXAS PRICELINE HOTEL LIST for which have 4*? If you ask for 3 nights or 4 nights, they can't accept your offer if they only have availability for part of your stay. And they won't have any way to indicate this to you directly either on Priceline. Hyatt and Omni are out of rooms for the 9/30-10/3 period if you look thru Orbitz. EDIT by THEREURE: DO NOT use the hotel lists to determine your re-bid zones!!! (see the comments at the top of the priceline hotel list... the only way you to determine your re-bid zone is described here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained
  12. Using a $10 bonus bucks, $28 bid becomes $38. Your Offer Price: $28.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $56.00 Taxes and Fees: $19.12 Total Charges*: $75.12
  13. Another agreement on a good hotel. Would stay here again.
  14. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $65.00 Subtotal: $65.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.88 Total Charges*: $80.88 Parking $15 self park Rack Rate was $99+tax ** Please move to California Forum **
  15. Bid 2 days prior 3* Downtown $50 ($65 total) Add Southwest $55 ($70 total) Add Arboretum $45 ($60 total) Add Central $38 ($51 total) 2.5* $38 ($51 total) Add South Airport $35 ($47.50 total) Gave up Rebid 1 days prior 3.5* Downtown $65 ($81 total) Add Arboretum $60 ($77 total) 3* Add Southwest $55 ($71 total) - Won Holiday Inn Austin Nw Plaza Arboretum It was 25% full, nice older hotel with new carpet and beds and a friendly staff and easy access to the highway in a quiet neighborhood
  16. The hotel charged us a $2 'amenity fee' for using Priceline. Is this allowed?? This brings the total price to just $2 below their quoted website rate. The room was a decent size. Shower did not have a tub. Rather it was a shower with a curtain spanning the width of the room. The shower area was sloped a couple degrees lower than the rest of the floor, though some water still escaped. Room was very humid, and though we had the AC off the entire night, it seemed to still be very cool. Bed sheets were clean, no bed bugs. Cable TV reception was worse than from an antenna. The people who stay here (unsurprisingly) aren't of the best type, but I suppose I've seen worse. The neighbor was blasting rap till 2am. Lobby was what you'd expect at a 2*/2.5* and staff seemed nice. Parking lot was roomy and there were an adequate number of parking spots. I probably wouldn't say here again, since paying $20 more would have resulted in a significantly nicer accommodation. But if you're going for the very lowest cost, this might be it.
  17. I was at 1* bidding $25 with Austin Downtown. Bumped to $26 and added Central. Got the 1* North Austin Plaza Hotel And Suites. Savings of $4 below rate indicated on their website. Not a very good deal and I didn't even know 1* was in the inventory. Got a low star hotel since my parents seem to get a kick out of staying in hotels with free breakfast and it turns out this one doesn't have it :) Please add this to the priceline list of TX hotels. I started with the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  18. Tried kept price and kept adding areas. Last try was for: 3* $45 Austin Arboretum Austin Central Downtown Austin Got $45 for Austin Holiday Inn Midtown 3*. I think this is a busy weekend in Austin since it was hard to find places to take my offer. Went thru BB PRICELINE link to book my reservation.
  19. FYI, I paid $11 for the parking on the Saturday I stayed there.
  20. Oh do note, they have $11 self parking or $14 valet... :) Kinda of a ripoff since they only charge since they know there's nowhere you can park close to the hotel (it's at the austin airport) even though there's hundreds of acres around the area.
  21. I would try waiting until you are closer to the target march 6 date. Someone may correct me, but I think your chances might be better by waiting rather than bidding two months in advance.
  22. First bid, $51 in Houston Galleria. Got Intercontinental Galleria Houston. Great facilities, sadly $16 self parking. Valet would almost be worth it, just due to parking garage not being totally accessible. $51+$16tax+$16parking = $83 total. Fully stocked minibar, CRT tv, decent view. It's a busy area, so be ready.
  23. $65 4* Austin Downtown - rejected $55 3.5* Austin Downtown - rejected $50 3* Austin Downtown - got Doubletree University Area. newly remodeled. Please update the Texas hotel listing to show it as 3* as this used to be a 2.5* before the remodeling.
