  1. Was looking to book Pittsburgh Southside for 12/14-15/17. Could see on PRICELINE that the rate for the Holiday Inn Express Southside was $67. There was also a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal offered for $64 that was probably the same property. I tried a bid of $55, which was countered with a "increase your bid with no changes for $13 more, to $68" offer. The $67 rate mentioned above included free breakfast, so I just took that. Pity the bidding just doesn't seem to work like it used to anymore at Priceline. It's still an all right deal, and I'm fine with it though.
  2. I was expecting to get the Westin as listed on Betterbidding, but got the William Penn instead. Unpleasant surprise.
  3. Lowest PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal offered for city was $62. I wanted University zone, so I started there with a bid for $50, was rejected, so I added Southshore and $4. Won the Holiday Inn Express. It's less than a 15 ride to Pitt, so I'm happy, plus saved almost enough for parking, $14.
  4. After checking Hotwire and Priceline Express deals, thought I would start at $62 in Downtown East, thinking the Chelsea could win at this. That was rejected, so I added Downtown West hoping for the Novotel, and bid $65. Ended up winning the Chelsea, which is a fine, convenient hotel, with this bid. Total came to $80.72 with taxes. I did use the link to Priceline from Betterbidding to do my bidding.
  5. After checking Hotwire and Priceline deals for Pittsburgh for the date, and surmising that it was the 3.5* Station Square hotel being offered for $82 plus taxes, I opened my bidding with a $62 bid for a 3* Downtown. It was accepted on the first try, coming to just under $77 with taxes for the Station Square property. I figure I saved myself enough to pay for parking.
  6. Looked over previous wins, Hot.wire, and PRICELINE EXPRESS, thought I'd give a $72 bid a try. Won on the first try, $88.07 total with taxes/fees. Looks like a nice hotel, albeit, a bit of a walk down to civilization.
  7. Using the PRICELINE link above, I started bidding at $50 yesterday, was rejected as I added 2 zones w/o 3* properties. Today started at $60, was rejected with a counter offer of $73, so I added a zone and bid $63 and won. Hotel wanted $91 on their site, so I'm saving some money for beer & parking:). Location is close to HOB and happy hour at the Bier Markt, so it will work perfectly.
  8. Using the PRICELINE link at the top of BetterBidding: Started bidding $58 Toronto South - rejected Added Toronto North at $60 - rejected Added a new category (Toronto Lakeshore Area) that appears to have taken the place of Toronto West (which was "greyed out" and unavailable as a selection) at $63 and won the Delta Chelsea. $79.13 with taxes and fees
  9. Using the PRICELINE link above, I bid $62 for 3.5* Toronto South and was rejected (I wanted the Novotel). Rather than adding zones here, I backed out, and started over (from here) and bid $59 for 3.5* Downtown Toronto North (the Delta Chelsea). That was rejected, so I added Downtown Toronto South and rebid $62. That was rejected, so I added Toronto West (which has no 3*), and rebid $63 and won. Total after taxes and fees comes to $79.11.
  10. Of course, I did use the PRICELINE link at the top of the page.
  11. Started bidding at $75 for 3.5*, rejected added another zone (Southside) and went to $80, accepted with taxes comes to $191.94 for 2 nights
  12. Using PRICELINE link above, bid $40. Bid was rejected but I was offered to try again for $50, chose not to. Added a non 3.5* zone and rebid $45, accepted by Doubletree. Cookies here we come! Taxes and fees are $14.25 additional.
  13. Started bidding for 2 rooms in 3.5* downtown at $35, offer was refused, but was offered a rebid for $9 more, so I took it and got 2 rooms at the Doubletree for $109.44. Of course, I used the link to PRICELINE above.
  14. Sorry...I did use the link from Betterbidding to PRICELINE.
  15. Requested 4 rooms, starting bid of $38. Was "allowed" to rebid w/o changes if I added $11, to $49. Won the Raddison Gateway, total of < $236 w/ taxes for 4 rooms.
  16. Downtown Toronto for Oct. 25, I started 4* with $65, went by $5 all the way up to $95, all rejected. Went down to 3*, bid $60, was offered something for $17 more and took it. $77 for Raddison Harbourfront.
