For their 2 rooms using priceline they didn't realize what a good deal you could get, so my mother in-law mentioned $300 a night and I commented that they should be able to get it for far less. There main goal is to be walking distance from Times Square so that is why I thought of the Times Square area or The next area beside it Midtown Central. As for star rating they didn't seem to be too picky just want a decent place to sleep as I think they will be running my credit card and out on the town shopping, sight seeing or taking in a show. Ian
They are willing to try and book 2 rooms via PRICELINE. When I looked at HOTWIRE the prices seem to be much higher. I will give it a go. The other post by AaronJB makes sense from when I stayed in Manhattan before. From looking at other posts it seems like the going rate appears to be $140-$195 for the area's they are looking at.
Need help in bidding for hotels in the French Quarter for June 19th - June 22nd, 2008. Need to book 3 rooms for 6 people in total. What sort of prices should I start at and can expect to pay. Thanks, Ian
Ah okay didn't know that it was a good judge of what would be accepted. It makes sense now to see the rates for Maui and what we paid got a convertible for $20 and the rates via hotwire are $33.
Yep it was National, quite impressed and used the savingsbarn.com website to get to priceline. Still struggling to get a decent deal for Kona. I have posted in the Car Rental form.
Try the first bid of $20 for a convertible and it got accepted. Pickup: Oct. 14th 1:30pm Return: Oct. 21st 1:30pm Your Offer Price: $20.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 7 days Subtotal: $140.00 Taxes and Fees: $55.29 Total Charges: $195.29
A bunch of hotels are only available if you don't book more than one night. Also it is a long weekend in Canada for the weekend, plus there is a triathlon there but I don't think it is that large.
Need help for bidding for a 3* hotel in Kingston. When I did a search only one appeared, Four Points. I have tried, $70, re-bid $85, and re-bid $95, re-bid $105. Thanks, Ian
Thanks for all the help, I did as other people had a tried my luck for $125 and bingo first try they accepted..... That is awesome I really appreciate everyone's help and we can certainly use the $200 savings a night for a nice meal or other things since this will be our honeymoon. Ian
Need any pointers for bidding on resorts in Maui, the Kaanapali area for the Week of Oct.14th to Oct. 21st. I have noticed that a lot of people are getting the Westin for $125 or $165 around the same time we are heading over. Any tips would be great. Thanks, Ian
Also did you just use Resort as you criteria, what was the trick to get the Westin. The other possibilities I assume would be the Sheraton Maui and the Hyatt Regency. Ian
We are interested in staying at the Westin Maui but the week earlier, who did you ensure that you got the Westin Maui, or as your criteria did you just use the Resort category ??? Looking for any advice as we would like to stay at the same place but for the Oct. 14th to the 21st. Tks, Ian
This was my second bid, I tried $150 and also we were hoping for a resort. Thanks for the info, an interesting thread for sure. We were debating on booking the Maui hotel as we want to get the Westin but don't really want to pay $365 a night. But we also wanted to ensure we had a room with a view being that it is the honeymoon and hopefully only do it once. I noticed today a lot of people have been fortunate to get the Westin around the same time we are going for a great price, $165 a night and 7 nights that is a great savings. Ian
We have managed to secure the Waikiki Beach Marriott but when called it is a CityView Room. Is there a way to get an upgrade on our room. We are also going for our Honeymoon. Tks, Ian
Looking at traveling to Hawaii for Honeymoon in October. Looking at staying in Waikiki for a few days and then traveling to Maui. Thinking of Oct. 6th to Oct 10th (Waikiki) and then leave for Maui for Oct.11th to Oct. 17th (Maui). Any advice on when to try and bid for the hotels and strategy. Would prefer something at the resort or 4* since it is our honeymoon.. Thanks in advance, Ian
Trying to get away on vacation in Boston. Have tried increments from $95 to $130 for 4, 3 and 2 1/2. Areas tried Cambridge, Copley, Downtown, World Trade Center. Want something in the tourist area so that we could do all the touristy things. Never been to Boston before. Looking for any combination of dates between Oct. 11-14 (staying a minimum of 2 days). Any ideas ??? Not sure if I need to jack up my maximum bid but figured mid week should be able to get something reasonable.
