  1. I just got the exact same deal as this Hotwire Oak Brook thread for 6/11-6/13. Thanks helped a lot.
  2. I used the list compiled by thereuare to identify this hotel as the Omni Chicago Hotel which tripadvisor seemed to like. It was listed as 4* with business center, suite, resturant, pool, and fitness center. It was not listed as a customer favorite. It is indeed the Omni. It was $148 which, for this hotel and these dates, is pretty good. Most of the hotels in the area are 200.00 and above, sometimes way above (unless you go red roof inn for 119.99 which I didn't want to do). It is in my area and looks like it should be a nice stay.
  3. The dates I got are 10/22/06-10/25/06 (checking out 10/25). I am sorry I don't have an account with hotwire. I did it as a guest. I know though that the amenities matched what was previously written about hotel indigo including a spa and think even tennis courts which is unusual.
  4. I used the board as a source of info and strategy for my Nov 2-5, 2006 trip. I started with 4* downtown 125, rejected. Then, 4* downtown and west charleston 145 accepted--Rennaissance Hotel a marriot property. Considering a lot of the downtown hotels are going for 250 to 300 or more a night I felt that was a great result. There is a big art event going on with all the galleries that weekend for which I am going. The hotel seems to be in the heart of downtown, and I have been told that once you are down there, you don't need a car as they have a trolly. That saves on car rental and parking. A cab from the airport is about 25-30.00.
  5. I used the forum as a source of info for this 3* Hotel with lots of emenities including spa for 167.00 in the Gold Coast area. Prices are extremely high (like 225-400.00) for this week in most hotels so I did not have much luck on priceline (10/22-27/06) due to multiple conventions and if I am correct a marathon. It just so happens that Hotel Indigo is right by were I need to be so I took a chance that this one would be it based on your postings. I could only get three nights of my desired stay, but found a nearby bed and breakfast by word of mouth for 169 for the last two days. Yesterday, if I would have had time, I think the same hotel would have been 157 for the whole week. I should have taken the time to book it and been late for my engagement. But all will work out I am sure. Parking is 35.00 with in and out priv.
