I checked Express Deals for earlier in the week (July 25 - 26) and they have very low rates ($25 - $50). Is it possible that if I wait until July 25 - 26 to book for July 28-29-30, the rates will be lower?

My budget can stretch between $100/night and $150/night. The latter. I'm not much of a gambling person. I'm visiting Vegas for the shows.

Looking for a 3* or 4* place around $100 per night. We'd like to be near the strip, but if we could get a lower rate, we're willing to be 5-10 miles away. I'm booking for next week, but the rates are high. The best Express Deal I could find was $171 per night (most likely South Point Hotel). On Hot Wire, the same story $172 per night is the lowest. I thought last minute booking is supposed to yield low rates? Any suggestions?
