  1. Just thought I would share this deal. Tonight I just got the Wynn for Memorial Day weekend for $110 a night. I wanted to try to keep it under 100 but I figured it's not a bad price for a holiday weekend even though it's going to be quite hot most likely. I'm happy with the deal and very excited to stay at the Wynn.
  2. So I would like to get a hotel on the strip at least 3 stars. Would like to check in 12/30/08 and check out 1/1/09. Looking at websites most rooms seem to be 200-400 dollars. Has anyone had experience bidding during these dates? What can I expect to pay through price line?
  3. Since it looks like this has not been reviewed for a few years I thought I would add mine. I just got back from staying here a couple days ago. My trip was from 8/24/07 to 8/27/07. So that was staying overnight F,Sa,and Su. I got this for 127$ per night. I had bid on it months ago so I forget my exact strategy. I believe I bid a couple times and it gave me an option saying that if I increased my bid to 127 I would get a hotel. On to the review. By the reviews i had read I was not expecting much. To my surprise I was very impressed. My girlfriend and I arrived early but had no trouble checking in early, they had a room with a king size bed ready without any waiting. The bed was very comfortable. After a 5 hour drive from san diego it was nice to lay down on it for a bit. TV had lots of stations, though no HBO. The AC was powerful but never woke me up. The bathroom was great. Huge mirror as well as a small magnifying mirror. Starbucks coffee and some tea that could be brewed. The shower had dual shower heads that had plenty of force behind them. The view from our window was nothing spectacualar you could see Bally's parking lot close by and MGM far away. Did not have a problem with maid service. Room was always clean and made up after we got back from nights on the strip. I liked the little casino that was downstairs. I did not get to participate in the happy hour gaming of .25 cent roulette and 1$ craps because that is only monday through thursday. It always had 5 and 10 dollar blackjack though which I found nice after gambling at the 15-25 dollar tables at the bigger hotels. Did not eat any any restaurants so I have no opinion on those. I thought the location was great. About a block and a half off the strip. Very close to the Flamingo and Bally's both of which have stops for the monorail. We got every cents worth of the 9$ day pass for the monorail. Very central to the strip I found it much more convenient than staying at a hotel that is either on the far south or north on the strip. Easy access to the 15 from flamingo blvd. The only true negative about this place is that they were working on the elevators. I think they had 6 or so elevator but seemed only 3 would be working at most. They had this posted on their website though I knew of the elevator work before I bid. We never had to wait more that i would say 3 mintutes for an elevator. If you have a pet you want to take this might be the place for you. We saw many dogs. There is a floor that is pet friendly. Overall it was a great experience and will hope to get it again the next time I bid for a LV 4* hotel.
  4. Ok did the bidding strategy that you suggested. My last bid of 75 was finally accepted :). What i got was the 3* Marriott San Diego Del Mar for the dates 11/17/06-11/19/06 for $75 per night. Not too bad and i checked the hotels website it seems nice, I am happy. Thanks for your help.
  5. I would be willing to accept hotels in these areas:Coronado, Del Mar, Downtown San Diego & Harbor Island, Mission Valley, Point Loma - Shelter Island - Old Town, San Diego Coastal , and Sorrento Mesa.
  6. I have tried a lot of zones, i usually get mission valley or del mar. I will have a car though so the area is really no concern to me since san diego is not a huge city and i know my way around well. As for maximum bid i suppose 75$ since i have gotten 50-55 dollar rooms in the past.
  7. Hello, This is my first time finding this forum. I have used priceline for san diego before and gotten 2 different 3 star hotels for between 50-55 dollars. I now need a room for 2 people for the dates 11/17/06 to 11/19/06. I didn't get accepted bids for bids up to 60$. I then realised that that is the weekend before thanksgiving so hotels are usually pretty booked. So my question is has anyone had a successful bid for a thanksgiving weekend and maybe give me some guidence on what i should bid. Thanks in advance for any help.
