  1. Looking at a 3* hotel in Waikiki Near Beach South - Diamond Head, and I see the following amenities : Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Near Beach Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool Business Center Laundry High-Speed Internet Access Golf Tennis Even though amenities differ slightly from the FAQ, does this look like the Hyatt Place Waikiki?
  2. Trying for the Prince. Started bidding at $100 for 2 rooms, denied. Then placed rebids at $105, and $110, also denied. With one rebid left, decided to bump up to $120, and got it.
  3. After checking the Ala Moana's best rate ($165) and seeing Hotwire's offer of $156 for a 4* Waikiki North, I felt there was less of a risk ending up at the Ala Moana. Following AEmgee's Oct. 3 post, I bid $136 and was accepted on the first try. Thanks! Love this place as compared to 'the other board'.
  4. I might've been able to drop this down to $16, but with the date so close, I didn't want to risk it.
  5. Was bidding 4* Waikiki North (trying for The Prince) and ended up with The Reef, which they've now re-rated as resort from 3*. For years and years, 4* Waikiki North bidding would get you the Prince at this price-level. I should've paid a little closer attention to recent wins, as this re-rating seems to have happened a couple of weeks ago. :)
  6. Yup, the Outrigger Reef in Honolulu has been upgraded from 3* to Resort. So, what once was a 'sure-thing' for bidding 4* in Waikiki north to get the Prince, will now land you at this place. Just happened to me, and from following bidding reports of others, this switch only happened a couple of weeks ago, so beware!
  7. Bid today. Was initially offered $14 by hotwire. Tried to bid lower with priceline, but no dice. Had to re-enter request at hotwire, and offer was raised to $20 for midsize. Opened another browser, and was offered $14 again, and purchased that one.
  8. I tried bidding 2 days ago for these dates, all the way up to $180, but no luck. Attempted bidding today 3*; MTW, MTE; $140 : rejected Rebid 3*; MTW, MTE, and added UWS; $150 : Accepted Upgraded to 4* Hilton New York. From reading other winning bids in NYC, seems the hotels don't release their room until a week or so before.
