  1. Need help identifying this property:

    4.5* HOTWIRE Riverwalk-North Loop 8/2 to 8/3 - $90

FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Children's activities, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower

Considering coming up for a few business meetings and the soccer game.  I prefer to stay further north than the stadium to be closer to other amenities so that's why I'm looking in this area, river north, and mag mile.  Thanks in advance!

  2. Seeing the following on Hotwire:

    Property 1: 4.5* River North, $73

Amenities: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access, Spa services

    Property 2: 4.5* River North, $78

Amenities: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Children's activities, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower

Any guesses on these two?  My guess is that Property 1 is The Godfrey, and Property 2 is The James but I'd appreciate any insight before booking.

    Thanks!

  3. I ended up pulling the trigger on the following 4* PRICELINE EXPRESS deal on a 4* in the Downtown - Millennium Park area for $111, with the following amenities:

    WiFi available in all areas

    Indoor Pool

    Fitness Center

    Business Center

    Pets Allowed

    Breakfast served in restaurant

    Non-smoking Rooms

    Valet Parking

Result was the Swissotel Chicago, lowest available rate found prior to booking elsewhere was $189, normal rate appeared to be $259.  All in all, I'm happy with the result.

  4. The ideal spot for my needs would be the Grand subway station, or within a few minutes walk.  I've been halfheartedly searching in the River North, Mag Mile, Navy Pier and Downtown Millennium Park areas.  The listing that started all this appeared to be a good fit on price alone so it was worth looking into.  I'm looking at things up to about $140/night, though obviously lower is better.  I've seen a few things that have floated through the Hotwire and Priceline offerings that lead me to think that 4* and 4.5* places will frequently fit into that budget, though I'm not opposed to a 3.5* if it's a nice property.

  5. I'm seeing the referenced hotel for $112 on 11/2, but am having some trouble fully identifying.  Amenities I can see are:

    Business center

    Fitness center

    Golf nearby

    Internet access

    Pet friendly

    Restaurant(s)

    Smoke-free rooms

    Accessible for visually impaired

    Accessible for hearing impaired

The golf item is different from what's shown on the hotel list for this zone, but I'm guessing Renaissance Blackstone or Hilton Chicago.  Any insights from the experts?

  6. Good morning.  We did a little more digging and booked this morning.

We adjusted our parameters slightly, and reviewed this morning's offers.  We booked via Hotwire and found what appeared to be a good deal---a 4* for $159 in a good area.  Using the hotel lists on this site, we were able to determine with about 90% confidence that it was the Sheraton Grand Chicago and we're pretty happy overall with both the property and the location.

The amenities as displayed were: Pet Friendly, Indoor Pool, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, Business Center, Internet Access

We were able to review the hotel list and found that among the 4* properties in the list, the only one that was both Pet Friendly and had a pool was this Sheraton.

Thank you to all for your help!

  7. Thank you for your help.  I'm making the trip to celebrate our anniversary so we're wanting to stay somewhere that is a cut above what we normally do---run of the mill Marriott and Hilton properties.  We'd like to be close by to at least a few amenities in the downtown area.  I'm thinking that means 4.5* or 5* properties.  I've stayed at the Westin River North and the W in the Theater district and those were both nice and would definitely fit the bill, though the W is probably a little bit away from where we'd want to be if I remember correctly.

    Any suggestions given your expertise?

  8. I need some help identifying this property.  The full amenities, discovered using the links on this site, include:

Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower

These don't seem to directly match up with any of the choices on the Hotwire List at http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?app=hotel_lists&tid=642&_service=hotwire#ffmenuWB

Any help would be much appreciated!
