Well, after multiple phone calls, emails and tweets, I was able to get an exception and have this booking cancelled. I had to agree to rebook with Hotwire and am now staying at the Shilo Inn by PDX for $40 more per night. Lesson learned. No more budget deal hunting on HOTWIRE :) 3.5* and up from now on.

Upon further reading, the real reviews are telling a different story. I've contacted Hotwire about the property being misrepresented on their hotrate site, and citing the property has over 1,000 Tripadvisor reviews and a 4/5 rating. Reality is a 1/5 and mentions of drug activity in parking lot. Not the "safe & clean" property Hotwire promised.

Free parking, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Internet access Was just seeking a clean place near PDX to crash after we land late on a Saturday. Not a huge fan of motels with outside facing doors, but the reviews were decent and all noted it was clean and remodeled recently.

Thanks! i have not been to Chicago in over 4 years, so i am really looking forward to it. Will definitely be going to Pierogi Heaven on Wells. I'll need to find a kid friendly deep dish spot. Hope to make it over to Xoco for lunch, but we'll see. if you can recommend some family friendly unique dinner spots that are more local than touristy, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks - I came across this hotel in Midtown east neighborhood. Is there a good way to search by amenities to narrow down the property name? Seems like a good deal, but I don't want to find myself near a neighborhood that the wife is not comfortable walking in with all of us after dark. 4* Midtown East $217 for a King or $230 for 2 doubles. Free Internet Airport shuttle, Business center, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Spa services, Tennis nearby The note on Hotwire says the last person got the Renwick.

Good morning - We are planning to take our daughter to NYC to visit the American Girl Store for her birthday. We are looking for a hotel in the Midtown/Time Square area ideally, but really anywhere in Manhattan would work. I am looking for a 3.5 -4* that offers 2 beds and is clean.
