  1. Hi, Ordered via HOTWIRE easyview at 137$ per night between Oct 19-22 and received the 4* Hilton McLean FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  2. Hi, No. I do not want to split the nights since we already have lots of hotels switching during our trip north that the kids are not used to. will have to live with the high prices in Boston and try to get the best of it. We must use Hotwire as we are 4 people. I think the realistic back up is the one outside, but I keep the one in the city in case we will decide otherwise.
  3. I see. In that case I think our preferred location to stay would somewhere north of Cambridge. Preferably close to a T line or other mass transportation line. We have a car but I understand Boston traffic is a mess. I think we have no choice but to accept around 1h commute to the city center. BTW, I saw there are boat rides from Salem that take about 1h to Boston. Would that be a good alternative as well?
  4. The hotel full list is: FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby But the question is more general - is Needham-Dedham-Canton area a good solution for traveling to Boston or is it too far to be practical?
  5. Thanks, I did not check how to get to the center from Crown Plaza. Indeed we are with two kids so we need easy access (just metro for example would be good). I'm seeing 3.5* in Needham - Dedham - Canton area for 121$. is that a good place to stay in or a problematic one (too far or unsafe etc)?
  6. I still don't know where its recommended to stay in Boston. I don't ask for specific hotels. What regions are good to bet on as they provide good value and are safe for family visit.
  7. I don't understand what does it matter. We don't know where its good to stay so we picked two pretty randomly. One is Crowne Plaza Boston - Woburn and second is Revere Hotel Boston Common.
  8. The 290 is before tax if this is what you mean by all in. Its the hotel at times square.
  9. We have two back-ups. One outside for about 200$ and one in the center (more or less) for 350$. Will look into refundable rates site. We don't know where it is better to stay. This is why we asked. We aim to take the regular freedom trail and visit the aquarium and perhaps go to the universities for a visit. that's about it. We have a car since we just pass through Boston for two days on our way north. so this may be a factor. If its easy to stay out side the center and get to the center by train, than that's the option we want. If coming from outside the city is a big headache in Boston and its better to drive there, than we would prefer closer to the center. I hope this helps.
  10. That's a good point. Yes, we are fixed for 2-7th. Already have 3* hotel at times square as backup for 290$ a night.
  11. We will be there between 8-10 Oct. We have a reserved hotel at the center which is very pricey.
  12. Hi, We're looking to stay 2 nights in Boston as part of our trip in north east coast. We will be traveling by car. Preferably looking for 3-4* hotel with a good access to the attractions in the center but avoid traffic and parking issues. Where would you recommend we aim our bidding?
  13. Hi, Thanks for the tip! On booking their reviews are quite mixed. I think we will not take this one. BTW, They show 90% recommendation on hotwire - seems their ranking is a bit biased compared to booking and tripadvisor where it gets scores of just below 8/10.
  14. Hi, We have on hotwire easy view the following: Search: October 2nd-7th, 4 people. 3-star Hotel in Theater District - Midtown West area - 171$ FULL AMENITIES: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access On hotwire (probably the same one) its 173$ (original price 287$) Any idea which one it may be?
  15. Thanks, I'll post my result once I order. I see the Hotel Manhattan at Times Square received pretty bad reviews. only some of its rooms were renovated and I assume hotwire will get us an old room.
  16. Do you know what hotel might be the 4 star at Times Square North offered at 217$? FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower This might be better offer for us.
  17. I see it now. Thanks. I still need to finalize the trip plans which may shift our schedule by a day or two so will order in few days.
  18. Hi, thanks for your help! I will check to see if there are any great deals outside Manhattan. If not, I'll try to search for the 201$ deal (which currently is not available).
  19. Hi, Thanks for your help. My current backup is Holiday Inn Express - Times Square South and we also have the The Hotel at Times Square at a bit higher price (280). Where can I find the The Belvedere at 201$? I was also thinking what if we take a hotel outside Manhattan? for example, in long Island city there are nice deals for 3 stars hotels (I saw under 100$ once). but I'm not sure if this is a good place to go with a family or how difficult it is to travel from there to Manhattan attractions. what do you think?
  20. Searching via Hotwire easy I get: 3.5* Times Square South at 206$ FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower 4* World Trade Center - Wall Street at 215$ FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access 4* Times Square North at 217$ FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower 4* Times Square South at 234$ FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility Any idea as what these might be? Are these good prices or can I expect better if we delay our booking a bit?
  21. Hi, First time user for Hotwire or Priceline. We're family of 2 adults + 2 kids looking for 5 night stay in NYC between Oct 2nd-7th. First time visit so focus is on main attractions in Manhattan. We have a backup reservation for 260$ at a 3* hotel near times square. Looking for 3.5+ hotel which is well located, near metro and in a nice area. Since we need more than 2 people I will use only Hotwire. We're not familiar with NY at all and specifically the relevant zones within Manhattan to chose from. Would appreciate your help. I've read through a lot of the threads here and it seems that you recommend just a few zones from what's possible in the middle of Manhattan. Appreciate if you can tell me if all these zones are good to filter by Or I should remove some: Times Square North, Times Square South, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central, Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building, Midtown East, Midtown West, Chelsea, Union Square, Central Park South & World Trade Center (which is down low, I Know). Also, is it better to use Hotwire or Hotwire easy view as the results differ.
