  1. I already did the splitting and that is another interesting twist:

if you do 10 - 13 September it will give you the Venetian Hotel - check the descriptions

only when you go over the 13th of September i.e. including the 14 and 15 you will get the Wynn in my opinion

From 10-13th it will give you the 5 star at 171 US$ compared to 169, 169, 199 on the Website which basically is the average.....

    interesting twist....

for me the interesting part was that IMHO the Wynn was shown on Hotwire as previous posts suggested ( same with priceline) that only the Venetian shows up for a 5 star hotel.... I haven't made any decision yet - I will wait for tomorrow - because I have the impression that most hotels adjust their rate at the beginning of each week.

  2. Well,

I am going to Las Vegas from 10 - 15th of September and I am currently booked in the Hotel at MandalayBay.... but I am still looking for something better more central in Las Vegas, looking more at the center with bellagio, Wynn and Venetian.... The prices in general the last week have quite changed to the better.

I have never used Hotwire until now, but I have played around with it..... and for the dates I have entered it shows ( 10 -15 Sep) it shows an average rate of 231 US$ per night. It cannot be the Venetian for two reasons:

    1) The Venetian according to their Website has no availability so all for 14 - 15 of September and I confirmed this through numerous other booking channels.

    2) The Venetian when showing up on Hotwire is displayed North Strip as a customer favourite hotel, which the hotel I have been displayed doesn't show as well as does the high speed internet button not show

Now to my identification process of the hotel:

When the price of 231 US$ is displayed it shows an average savings per night of 12 US$ against the lowest published retail rate of 243 US$ - I tried to compare this with rates I have gathered for other 5 stars hotel at Las Vegas.

It isn't a match with the Bellagio as their lowest total amount for the five nights comes to 1385 US$

But I have found a match with the Wynn Las Vegas:

On Expedia.com it gives a rate of 179 US$ for 10-14th of September + 499 US$ for 14 -15th of September, if you add this up it comes exactly to 1215 US$ which is exactly also 5* 243 US$ as shown on hotwire as lowest retail rate.... not bad....

so with hotwire you make another in total 60 US$ saving for the five nights, not huge, but also money to take...

so I am of the opinion that it seems that Wynn have been the first time listed on hotwire.....

I wanted to inform the community of my findings, I haven't booked it yet, but for the experts here, could it be that I am right?, I am pretty sure BTW

    Cheers

    Thomas
