  1. I just came back from a weekend trip to Boston where I stayed at the Wyndham hotel. The hotel is located in the financial district, which is a fairly quiet area. However, since Boston is such a walkable city it's only a 5 minute walk to Quincy Market and about a 10-15 minute walk to Beacon Hill. The hotel is a beautiful art deco hotel (circa 1929 I think) that was recently renovated. The room I stayed in was a beautiful and huge room - 9-foot ceilings, king sized bed, gorgeous ceiling moulding, and lovely windows on 2 walls. The staff is wonderful - the concierge was full of helpful information about where to eat, what to see, and how to get there. Definitely a first class hotel From the airport you can take a free shuttle bus to the water taxis. Ask the taxi to drop you off at Long Warf and then it's only a 5-minute walk to the hotel (water taxi cost $10/person). It's a nice way to come into the city as you cross the Boston Harbour and get a beautiful view of the skyline. The cab from the hotel to the airport cost me $15 (with tip). Our concierge, however, said that the price is usually closer to $25 as traffic can be bad. The subway is also another route - I didn't take it but my guidebook says it takes about 30 minutes.
  2. After reading the reviews of the Wydham Tremont on TripAdvisor & HotelShark, I decided to do a little more investigating for another Hotwire Hotel. I just reserved a room at the Wyndham Boston Hotel, which has amazing reviews on TripAdvisor & HotelShark City: Boston, MA Location: Quincy Market - Financial District Quality: 4 star Amenties: Restaurant, Fitness Centre, Hi Speed Internet, Business Centre Dates: November 28 - November 30 Price: $87 per night for a total of $202.95 with taxes and booking fees This is a great price as I've looked around and the majority were in the $160 - $190 price range. Cheers
  3. Hello, I've never used the Hotwire service before, but am very impressed by the rates of the hotels. I'm considering purchasing a hotel for $83 a night (Nov. 28 - Nov 30) with the following description. Location: Boston, MA City Area: Boston Commons/Theatre District Hotel Quality: 3 1/2 star Amenities: Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Business Center I was wondering if, based on your experience, this might be the The Tremont Boston - A Wyndham Historic Hotel? I've been to many other sites, and the cheapest rate for that hotel for the above dates is $129.41 CDN (approx: $97US). It would be nice to save a few extra dollars with the exchange. I was also wondering if it's wiser to purchase a room closer to our arrival Boston, given that the time of year is low season? Will the room rates go down? Oh - and this is also a great service. Thanks for taking the time and effort to maintain and moderate the site. Makes hotwire purchases less intimidating. Cheers!
