I've never had to cancel with Hotwire, but I had an 'oops' with Priceline. During planning a trip to Hilton Head for a wedding I somehow got mixed up and thought that we were going 8/13-8/21 and booked a hotel for this week. Turns out I'm an idiot and we actually are going next week 8/20-8/28. Priceline refunded our money, less a $75 cancellation fee, which was in turn refunded when I rebooked the hotel for the following week. They said they won't do that again, but at least they do offer you one screw-up. Too bad hotwire doesn't do this, but fortunately I didn't book my hotwire rental car until after the hotel screw up was resolved!
