Update - we didn't end up staying in the area - stayed instead with friends in the Burbank area (a good 30+ miles away but free.......)

Normal good deals have been the 3* Ayres Inn(now ALO) in the high $70's to mid $80's range, nice quaint hotel not more than 10 minutes away from Disneyland, breakfast included, free parking, cool staff and you feel safe.
Planning a Disney trip (we go 4 times a year) not sure what's going on that weekend but sure noticed limited availability (cant get our normal "good" deals) and higher prices (been actively trying for over 2 weeks now). then this popped up and figured we might need to go for the longer drive this time around:
