On a recent trip to San Francisco (Aug 3), I booked a 4 star (at the time the reservation was made) hotel on hotwire.com for a good deal of $104/night. Upon arrival, at the hotel, the receptionist informed me that Holiday Inn ONLY gives out smoking rooms to hotwire bookings. I was shocked. Holiday Inn offered me a non-smoking room for $90 more. No where on the hotwire website does it mention that smoking rooms are included in the alotment of rooms up for grab. Hotwire only said in an email that it leaves the type of room up to the hotel, regardless of health risks. :) Room Service / High Speed Internet / in Room Coffee Service / Gym / Concierge (trips and tours)/ airport shuttle service ($15/person).
