  1. Started at 45$ and increased by 3$ with rebid zones.... I'm happy although I was hoping for the Hilton :)
  2. Didnt succeed with that strategy as well... If we don't face a wonder, we will stay with our backup.
  3. --> Best 3* deal in TS or MTW for less than 250 (max 270) $ all-in is required --> max. bid ~ 200$ --> TRYP @ TS would be ok, but PL doesnt complete the booking --> No splitting
  4. --> Best 3* deal in TS or MTW for less than 250 (max 270) $ all-in is required --> TRYP @ TS would be ok, but PL doesnt complete the booking --> No splitting
  5. The link works fine. It also appears in the search results again. But booking doesn't work. It always throws a 'Please note: Pricing and inventory changes often....' No matter which credit card, currency or even account was chosen. I will open a support case on Monday...
  6. Hmpf, they increased the price to $198 Do you think it's worth to try bidding up 198$ or will they reject everything again?
  7. Nope, doesnt work.... "Please note: Pricing and inventory changes often and the deal you selected is no longer available. However, we still have the following deals below." Crazy website, I can see the offer in the search results. But I cannot choose it anymore.
  8. Hmm.. They don't like me. I have tried it almost every day with several different payment options. And none got accepted :( Furthermore not even the 189$ express booking works. Also trying that since 2 days and every booking cancels with "Your Purchase Could Not Be Completed". Any further ideas?
  9. So, let's focus on what really matters... --> Best 3* deal in TS or MTW for less than 250$ all-in is required --> TRYP @ TS would be ok, so we need to beat the 187$ --> No splitting
  10. While trying the third combination with Downtown, White House, Georgetown... Thanks a lot for your help - I hope that the tracking works :)
  11. Backup rates is $200/nite I'd like to stay in one of these areas: Downtown Downtime - White House Georgetown Foggy Bottom
  12. Hello guys, do you have any good advise for staying in one of the central zones in DC? Timeframe is between September 26th-28th. My backup is the Holiday Inn Capitol for 700$ all-in and fully refundable.
  13. Sorry, I was too busy the last days... Budget: still all-in for less than 1k$ Star rating: just got back to the ground. Everything > 3* and a proper review should be fine :) Zones: Well, personally I'd like to stay central. Nevertheless, if adjacent zones provide better value or a better price, I would go for it. We arrive to NYC with Megabus to "New York, NY, 7th Ave and 27th St". I think something between the bus stop and the central park should be nice. Would you agree?
  14. Well, I cannot really replicate your offer at PRICELINE EXPRESS: Nevertheless splitting seems risky. With a free cancellation, I could try to find to first nights at a reasonable price and get an overall acceptable blended rate.. But staying at two hotels doesnt really make me happy :)
  15. Would you rather compromise on the hotel and have more money to spend throughout the city OR would you rather spend more for a hotel but perhaps have to watch your spending a bit more while out in the city? --> I WOULD increase the budget. Well, even though there are mixed reviews, the TRYP or POD don't make an overall messy impression. There are always some better and some worse rooms. My recommendation would be to look outside of the MTW and TS zones... there are other nearby zones that are also considered to be centrally located, you really don't need to stay in the immediate vicinity of Times Square, and you will likely spend far less time in Times Square then you think. --> That sounds reasonably. Which areas do you suggest? Any (expectable and determinable) highlights in these areas? Your thoughts based upon my comments? --> I hope that the board commission is enough to cover your efforts :)
  16. The lady next to me says that she doesn't like the TRYP guest pictures on TripAdvisor... Therefore it would be ok to get a different hotel in this area (which is hopefulla nicer :) ). I would like to stay in TS or MTW and get something all-in below 1000$ for the 4 nights. I understand that you are a local, right? What would you suggest? Take the TRYP and spend the saved 60$ for a dinner or bid for something better/cheaper?
  17. Well, the TRYP looks fine. How much taxes/fees should I expect? Do you think I could get something better @ Price.line?
  18. The Pod is just my backup. No real need to stay there, but in case all other options fail, I would go for it. My reservation (incl. tax&fees) would cost ~ 1000$, thus 250$/night. I would like to stay in TS or MTW (Pod is just the backup, so...). --> Best deal in TS or MTW for less than 250$ all-in is required :)
  19. Well, then lowering the star level seems to be the best option. Do you have a suggestion for that? (I have a refundable backup with the Pod 39 hotel... Just quickly searched and locked it for 1k$)
  20. Tried another time... TS will add hotel fees. Therefore just tried MTW in the range between 140-155$. Still no success :(
