  1. I'd been watching prices for 2 weeks and it didn't seem likely to nab another 4* for $150 as I had hoped. When this listing dropped below $200, I went for it. My entire stay is now: Baldwin for 3 nights at $150, Hotel Monaco for $120 and Warwick (right across the street) for $193--all before taxes. I'm pleased.
  2. Hi, Help identify 3.5* hotel in USW on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $193 on July 27-28. The amenities listed are pool and pet-friendly. There is nothing like this listed on Priceline or Hotwire hotel lists. Do you think it could be the Phoenix? I think this is likely the Handlery Union Square Hotel, which is listed on Priceline list as USW and Hotwire list as USE. Thanks.
  3. Never mind, I clicked on it and it said the last 3* booking was the Carriage Inn. That sounds like a match.
  4. Hi, I'm looking at a 3* Hotwire property for $175 on July 27th. It's not on the hotel list. Hotwire lists the following amenities: free breakfast, free internet, boutique, smoke-free, business center, accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom. Reviews mention the chic decor, close proximity to Moscone Center, and large rooms. One person says she thinks it should be listed in SOMA, not Civic Center. Any ideas? Thanks!
  5. I booked this hotel for the same price on Saturday night via Hotwire, but couldn't get it below $150 for any other nights. Finally I snagged it here. Now I have 3 nights at the same hotel, all for under $150. Although it's only a 2-star, it looks like a great spot! Very happy. Amenities on the receipt say only: Free Internet, Non-smoking
  6. Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique hotel Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Spa services Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  7. I am happy to report that I got the exact hotel I wanted! It's not the most earth-shattering deal ever, but I'm quite satisfied. I was willing to shell out some extra cash because the property has cool Japanese soaking tubs and offers spa credit at the spa next door. You were right about amenities: Free Internet, Pet Friendly, Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet Access, Spa Services
  8. Total: $150. This is more than I paid for the 4* hotel the following night, but I'm happy. Amenities listed: Free Internet, Boutique Hotel, Smoke-Free Rooms, Business Center, Internet Access
  9. Hi, The amenities listed are: Pet Friendly, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s) Business Center
  10. Hi, I think that's Kabuki too. I guess it's out of my range. Do you know if it's ever offered on Priceline? It is not on the Priceline hotel list. I am now looking SF accomodations for: 7/23-26, 7/27, and 8/5-6. Thanks.
  11. I expected this 4* listing to be the Holiday Inn but got Wyndham Garden Chinatown instead. My friend who lives in NYC says this is much better--closer to better food and more convenient subway lines. Yay!
  12. Hi, Yes, this question relates to my same stay. I am traveling to SF from July 23-28 and would like to spend an average of $150 per night. I am looking for the best rooms possible. I don't mind moving to a new spot each day and I don't mind doing a 2* night if it means I get to spend extra the next night. I especially like the Japantown boutique hotels: Tomo and Kabuki. I have one room booked so far: Sunday July 26 at the Monaco, which I'm quite happy with. (Booked on Priceline for $120.) Any assistance/suggestions greatly welcome! Thanks!
  13. Hi! I'd really like to book the Hotel Kabuki, a 3 or 3 1/2 star hotel in Japantown. What signifiers should I be looking for? I was counting on the Hotwire message that said "the last person who booked got the Kabuki..." but someone on another thread said that's not necessarily accurate. Suggestions? Thanks!
  14. Hi, Dates of travel are July 23-24 (Ideally, i'd like July 23-26) 2* hotel in USE SF with Free Internet, Business center, Internet access, Tennis nearby I clicked on the Hotwire "book" link and it said other bookings have resulted in Hotel Stratford. Sound right?
  15. Hi, This property has: Free Internet, Business center, Internet access, Tennis nearby. You'd think the tennis would be a giveaway, but I can't figure it out. Any ideas? Thanks!
  16. Hi, I decided to break my 5-day stay up in sections, so I could get better quality hotels. I don't mind moving if it's nearby. I scanned what was available on HOTWIRE for various dates within my range: July 23-28. When a 4 star hotel popped up for $139, I went back to Price.line to bid lower. My first bid of $120 was accepted, so I probably could have tried for lower! Oh well, this was my first time. The hotel looks terrific: Hotel Monaco. Now I'm looking to fill in the rest of my dates with equally fabulous properties! Question: Is there a quick link for starting a new post or posting a win? It's not so intuitive.
  17. Thanks for your speedy reply. Let me clarify my request: my top pick is 3* Japantown. All of the 3* properties listed look really nice, especially Hotel Tomo. I'd also take 4* in SOMO or Finanical District, 3* in Marina, or 2* in USE. I know my budget is restrictive, but I did see that someone got 4* SOMO for $148 and 4* Financial District for $95 within the past few months (unless I don't understand what I'm looking at). So I know it's possible! I don't mind spending some extra time to get what I want. Given this broader outline, can you suggest a strategy? Thanks again!
  18. Hi! I'm hoping to land a July 23-28 booking for a hotel in SF. My top choice is Hotel Tomo in Japantown, but it looks difficult to isolate since there are four other 3* listings. I can't go above $150. If I have to settle for another district or 2* property, so be it. Can you assist me with strategy? Also, I noticed that two properties listed in the Marina District aren't even in SF: Inn of the Hills Resort and Y.O. Ranch Hotel. Thanks in advance!
