  1. So - I Bid 105 added Queensboro - was asked to offer $129. Instead, Bid 110 added Madison, rejected Bid 115 added Upper East, was accepted at Renaissance Hotel 57. Thanks for your help!
  2. Thanks. So here's my plan. Please let me know if I'm not understanding correctly. Bid 100 was rejected Bid 105, rebid zone Queenboro Bridge, if rejected Bid 110, rebid zone Madison Garden, if rejected Bid 115, rebid zone Upper East, if rejected Bid 120, rebid zone Lower East, if rejected Bid 125, rebid zone Morningside, if rejected Accept the 130 Got it, I think!
  3. I'm coming into NYC on Friday, Feb 11 for two nights for a concert at Carnegie. Would like to get 4* in CPS if possible to be near the venue. Bid today CPS at $100 was rejected but asked to offer $130 to be accepted. Would it be better to accept the $130 offer or rebid tomorrow at $105? Or maybe rebid tonight at $105 adding Morningside Heights or Queensboro Bridge where the highest *,level is 3?
  4. Should have included that info in the previous post...sorry. August 9th & 10th are our dates in the New York City area. Fly to Chicago on Aug 11th first thing in the AM. Like to stay around $100/night; for the short amount of time we will be in the hotel, I think a 2.5 star or better would be fine. It's the logistics of getting the car back and getting to the Airport so early that concerns me.
  5. My daughter and I are going to Chicago for a couple of days in August to explore University of Chicago as a possible college option for her. Never been to Chicago before, I'm nervous about where to stay, how to get around, etc. We fly into OHare... What area would you suggest staying in... 1. Near airport? 2. Near the campus? 3. Downtown? And how do we get to and from via public transportation? Thanks.
  6. I am coming to college search with my daughter with a crazy schedule of trying to visit 14 colleges in 14 days up and down the eastern seaboard. We fly into Newark Airport and without staying a night, drive to Boston, down to DC and then back to NYC. We will be renting a car at the Newark Airport and need to return it there. We will only be in NYC for two days before flying to Chicago. I've used the PRICELINE links and all your suggestions and it has worked wonderfully so far. Thank you so much. Struggling with the NYC leg of the trip. We will be driving into the NYC area late at night, need to return the rental car that night or first thing in the AM to the Newark Airport. Be to Columbia for a tour at 10am the next morning and Barnard in the afternoon. Would like to catch a Broadway show that evening. Our flight leaves for Chicago at 8:30 am on the third day. I'm thinking it would it be better to stay at a hotel at the Newark Airport than Jersey City, do you concur? If so, what's the best way to get from the PATH to an airport hotel late at night?
  7. We will be staying in NYC on April 5 -12. An other option I thought of was staying in Hoboken - Hotwire 4* (must be the Hyatt) for $119 and using the subway. What do you all think of that idea? Thanks! You're awesome.
  8. Thank you to all of you for your help. My family of 4 is coming to NYC on April 4 -16 - staying in the area for 1 week and then road tripping into Pennsylvannia. We fly into JFK and are trying to decide whether to book a hotel near JFK airport, which would be relatively cheap, and take the subway into Manhattan or spend more (likely double) and stay in the Manhattan area? If we stay near the airport, how long is the subway ride, say, to Times Square? and is it relatively safe enough to ride late at night after a show? Or is there a better option that you can suggest?
