I convinced the boyfriend to book the pricline deal before it vanishes. I have tried several times to go through the bidding helper link so you get credit for my booking because you have been so helpful but every time I try only trump shows up when I click 5 star north. I'm not sure if it matters but I am on an ipad. If I go straight to priceline it is showing as $102.00. Please let me know if there is a way to make it show up using your link

Ok. Thanks for your opinion. I think I will go for it, I just have to convince my boyfriend that it's not that big of a deal to change hotels if we encore or wynn.

I'm not sure if this makes a difference but it also has this as a description. You'll find spectacular gaming and shopping along the north end of the Strip, stone's throw north of Flamingo Road. The casinos along the strip offer great restaurants, exceptional gaming, and a variety of entertaining shows. If the money you won is burning a hole in your pocket, come to the north end of the Strip to experience the best shopping in Vegas. Multiple golf clubs are also nearby. I have never used priceline express before, do they normally list as an 8+ property if it is a 9+ property?

You are right I didn't think of it that way. Would they list it as 8+ if it were 9+? I went through the bidding helper link about a half hour ago and it was there and just did again and it was gone. It is only showing one that looks like trump. I then went directly to PRICELINE and it showed up for $108.00 per night. The guaranteed amenities are indoor or outdoor pool, casino, restaurant, fitness center, free parking, business center. I would be more than happy to use your link but I don't know how to make it show up

I will try to make this as sort as possible. We are going to Vegas July 19th through the 24th. We are comped at the mirage for the 19th and 20th. I went through hotwire hot deals and booked the venetian for the 21st through the 22nd. ( the reason I didn't book the rest at the same time is after taxes and fees it would have been cheaper to book it through the hotel so I figured I would wait and see if the price for the 2 nights I still need go down.) anyways, I just checked at hotwire is still the same price so I checked priceline, they have what I believe to be the venetian for $124 a night for a total of $294.76 after taxes and fees for the 2 nights. My main question is, are there any 5 star north hotels with a 8+ rating? From the research I have done it can't be encore, wynn or palazzo because they all have 9+ and it can't be trump because it has a casino. Am I basically guaranteed the venetian? I decided to check the nights individually, the 21st was listed at $99.00 plus their absurd taxes and fees. I decided to go for it since I was 99% sure it was the venetian. I won the venetian I hope this helps someone else out.

I just wanted to say thank you for your help and close my thread. We decided not to book with hotwire because when I got to the final price page they were going to charge me a hair under 20% more in "taxes and fees" when all is said and done we would only be saving $75.00 over the coarse of a 3 night stay verses booking directly though the hotel. $25 a night savings just isn't enough to take a gamble on not getting the hotel we want. On top of that if we booked with hotwire we would have to pay in full right now and with booking through the hotel we don't have to pay until our stay. If we were traveling the week before or the week after, the listed price before "taxes and fees" is around $105 per night it would probably be enough to take the gamble. thanks again for your time and we will definitely check back for our next vacation and see if it makes sense to bid on a room.

I searched the internet and couldn't find an answer Question 1. Is there a best day to buy a hotels on hotwire? How often do the prices fluctuate? I have checked quite a few times and the price hasn't changed from the $143.00. I would really like to get it a little cheaper to help cover the nightly resort fee. I have read quite a few people say they have gotten venetian/palazzo for $105 Question 2. Are there any 5 star hotels north on the strip that have "suite" in the amenities that is not the venetian or palazzo? Thanks so much!!

Thanks so much for your reply. We will be making a decision this weekend and I will report back. My boyfriend isn't a fan of the idea of being locked into a hotel without knowing exactly where we would be staying.

I am pretty sure it is either venetian or palazzo which is what I am hoping for. I've never bid on a hotel room before. I looked at kayak, expedia ect. And both venetian & palazzo were in the $205 range so I think $143 would be a good deal for this hotel.
