  1. OK, thanks Aaron. I might look at that. Toronto East was my second area of choice. Hoping to be in entertainment district, which is Downtown Toronto West.
  2. Ha, sorry, missed that part. Tuesday and Wednesday nights, Augst 7 and 8.
  3. Thank you for the quick response! My main concern is having a room with only 1 bed. We'd prefer 2 Queens, or 1 Queen and 1 Dbl. But if the "double occupancy" means only 1 bed, then that wouldn't work well for us. We are looking (1st choice) Downtown Toronto West or (2nd choice) Downtown Toronto East. I was hoping to be under $150/night all-in, which may be a bit ambitious for a 3.5 to 4 star hotel. We did get the Hyatt Regency on King St. in 2014 for that price range through Hotwire, but I wasn't seeing anything listed this time around.
  4. I've used BB to figure out hotels I'm looking at on Hotwire before, but have never used Priceline or the BB Helper. I'm not liking the prices I'm seeing for Downtown Toronto, and thought I'd try the BB Helper Priceline. But even though I put in 2 ADULTS and 1 CHILD in the box at the top, Pricelne is telling me that rooms found at my bid will be only for 2 people? Can I not use BB Helper Priceline for a family of 3?
  5. Just booked a Hotwire hotel, 4* Ottawa Byward Market area. Amenities: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access I was expecting The Westin Ottawa, based on the fact that betterbidding.com listed The Westin as the only 4* hotel in the Byward Market area. But, it turned out to be the Andaz Ottawa. It gets 4.8/5 on TripAdvisor. It's a Concept by Hyatt hotel, so it hopefully it will be good. A little further away from the Parliament Buildings than we were hoping for, but it allowed us to select bed type (2 queens) which is a bonus for us since we're traveling with our 11 year old son and not guaranteeing bed type usually means he's in a cot or pull out couch which he hates.
  6. So, I booked through Hot.wire (through Betterbidding.com). The hotel was listed as a 4-star hotel, Downtown Toronto West End. Advertised rate was $102/night (reduced from $204). Amenities listed were free internet, pet friendly, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, internet access, accessible for hearing impaired, accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility, wheelchair accessible, accessible bathroom, accessibly parking, roll-in shower. 85% Hotwire user recommended, 1573 reviews. Decided to grab it, got the Hyatt Regency on King Street. Google Maps shows it's a 6 minute walk to Hockey Hall of Fame, and a 14-minute walk to Ripley's Aquarium of Canada. Couldn't be happier with the result. Total came to $253 USD on Hot.wire, which at the current exchange rate is $200 even in USD. Good deal.
  7. Seeing a 4 out of 5 star hotel Downtown Toronto West end for $108/night (reduced from $185) for two nights, April 14 & 15. Amenities include indoor pool(s), fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, self-service laundry, internet access, accessibility - accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility. 4.0/5 stars on TripAdvisor, 90% Hotwire recommended with 754 total reviews. I'm hoping this is the Westin Harbor Castle, but can't that for sure. Also seeing a 4.5 star hotel Downtown Toronto West end for $96/night (reduced from $168) for April 14 &15. Only two amenities listed: fitness center and restaurant. 90% recommended from 247 Hotwire reviews. Hotwire also lists a 4 star Downtown Toronto East end for $88/night (reduced from $172) for the same dates, with more amenities listed, being: pet friendly, boutique hotel, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, self-service laundry, internet access, spa services. We are hoping to get a hotel within 15 minutes or so walking distance to the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Ripley's of Canada Aquarium (next to the Air Canada Center). Any tips would be appreciated. I haven't quite figured out how to use the hotel list in Toronto to match the Hotwire results. Thanks!
