  2. Amenities- Free parking, Free Internet, pool, restaurant, pet friendly, business center, fitness center, self-service laundry
  3. Finally bought a hotel. It was a little more per night than I wanted to pay, but we stayed in our budget and decided to stay 3/29 to 4/1 because hotel prices shot up April 1st to 2nd. The amenities: Pet friendly, smoke-free rooms, fitness center, restaurant, business center, self-service laundry, and Internet access. Thank you for all the help and suggestions!! It was a great help!
  4. I guess ultimately we'd like a 4 or 3.5* near a Subway and mid-Manhattan...if possible. Is there is an area that would guarantee a hotel near a subway? We can probably handle the small rooms, as we don't plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel, but if we can avoid it, we'd like to. If you see anything that would be a good hotel, let me know. Max bid is still no more than $150.
  5. What would be the bidding process for a 3.5* hotel? Still wanting to stay in the same areas. MTW, TS, MTE, MSG, ESB, CPS. Dates: 3/29-4/2 Thank you! :)
  6. Or this one: Midtown East Area- 4* for $158 (Hotwire) Amenities: Indoor Pool, Fitness Center, Pools, Restaurant, Business Center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Tennis nearby 75% recommended
  7. Any ideas on what the Times Square 3* for $120 on Priceline would be? No amenities. Thank you!
  8. Any idea what these hotels may be? Stay 3/29-4/2 Financial District-Wall Street area (hotwire) 3.5* Amenities-Free internet, smoke-free rooms, fitness center, restaurant, business center, self-service laundry $139/night or Time Square 3.5* Amenities- Smoke free rooms, fitness center, business center, Internet access $138/night resort fee- $20/night
  9. Let's lower the star rate to 3.5*/3 stars for the stay of 3/39-4/2. I'd hate to cut a day our of our already short week. Thank you ahead of time!
  10. A couple of questions- Would it be cheaper to stay in NYC Sunday to Wednesday than Sunday to Thursday? Or does it matter? What would be the process of bidding for a 3* as well? My attempts at bidding for a 4* did not work. :/ Thanks in advance!
  11. I'm curious. Any idea what the 3 1/2* Hotel on Priceline Express Deals is for $169/night? Amenities: Condo and Wifi. Dates the same: March 29-Apr. 2. As for bidding, my 3rd rebid would be Greenpoint-Williamsburg as that's a 3*. I'd just make sure if 4* wasn't possible, not to use that area when I started rebidding for 3*'s. Is this correct? This is all very interesting. But it keeps me from grading all the papers I have to grade. :) Thanks again for all your help.
  12. I want to be sure I understand the rebidding process. I have read the thread about it, but just to be clear. To add a re-bid zone means if I am wanting a 4* then I need to add an area that does not have a 4*. So if I go by what you are suggesting, I will first bid on 4* for MSG, TS, and MTE first at $100. If that doesn't go through, then I want to add a re-bid zone that does not have a 4* like Greenwich Village and bid $105. Then if my bid still is not accepted, I will add another zone without the 4* (Like Coney Island). Is this right? Please be patient as I have bid before on PL, but never with this much strategy. Thank you in advance!
  13. Any suggestion on how I should bid on Priceline? We are looking for 4* but will go for 3* as well. The areas we'd like to stay in are pretty open. MTW, TS, MTE, MSG, ESB, CPS, are the areas we were thinking about. We are willing to spend up to $150/night. Thank you!
  14. Well, that's good news. Must have just been the couple I looked at that charged it. I looked at 3 or 4 different ones that charged $20 or 34/night.
  15. The most we are willing to pay at the moment is $150/night. We'd like to stay in a 4*, but are willing to stay in 3* as well. The areas we'd like to stay in are pretty open. MTW, TS, MTE, MSG, ESB, CPS, are the areas we were thinking about. Do most hotels add on a resort fee? In your opinion, is less than $150/night realistic?
  16. We are trying to stay in the lower $100's if at all possible. My friend who is coming with me has a really low budget and I'm trying to make it so I don't have to pay too much of her part of the stay. If we use Priceline, is it possible to get a good hotel between $100-125/night? I know this may be a lowball price, but one can always hope, right? :D Should I start a new topic under the Priceline board?
  17. Thank you for the quick reply! I'm pretty open to where we stay. I usually use Priceline, but decided to check out Hotwire today. Our budget is up to $150/night and hopefully a 3* or 4* hotel. I like the Central Park area, but is there a better area to stay in? We are planning on getting the Weekly Unlimited MetroCard, so I know if the hotel is close to the subway, it will be fairly quick to get where we want to go. Any suggestions are appreciated!
