  1. Bid $23 for 2* in Augusta West - rejected Added Augusta North and upped bid to $25 - accepted for Howard Johnson Inn - $35.67 incl. tax. Great deal since we are just passing through the area and needed a place to stay tonight. Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link.
  2. Bid $40 for 3.5* in Bethesda - declined, but was offered a followup search without changing options if I raised bid by $12. Instead, I added DC Suburbs and rebid $45 and was accepted for Hyatt Regency Bethesda. We are attending a wedding, and this is actually where the whole wedding party and family are staying anyway, which works out well. I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link to book the room.
  3. Bid Glen Allen 4* for $40, not accepted. Started adding one of the many 4* rebid zones for Richmond (only Glen Allen and Downtown have 4*) - bid $45, then $50, both not accepted. Finally, $52 was accepted. Total for 3 rooms, 2 nights - $366.06 with taxes. Looking forward to the stay. Wish they had an indoor pool for the kids, but should still be nice. Used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link to bid. Thanks.
  4. Bid $45 for 3* in Richmond Downtown area - Rejected (offered a room if I upped bid by $13-passed on that). Added Richmond South as rebid zone and upped bid to $50 - Accepted for Doubletree Hotel Richmond Downtown. Two rooms for $122.02 with tax. Happy with the results. Thanks. Used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  5. First bid for Jersey City - $70 was rejected. Added Elizabeth and upped bid to $75 and was accepted. Total for two rooms with tax was $182.xx. Should be a nice place to spend Father's Day weekend. Thank you for this site. :)
  6. I started bidding at $105 in the Strip area for 5* only but was rejected with counteroffer of $146. Bid up in ~$5 intervals adding different zones and was accepted at $134. Last rejected amount was $129. Immediately tried to add a night (08/13) as check-out is at 11am and our flight out isn't until that evening, but that was rejected with a counteroffer of $380 (ouch - Saturday night). We will just try to find something to do with our bags until check-in at the airport that night - any ideas? Total for 4 nights - $536 + 69.45 taxes and service fees = $605.45. This is my first hotel booked with Priceline. Thanks so much to the forum for all of the great bidding information. Incidentally, how would you handle showing up for this room with three small kids in tow? I'll leave the kids with my wife while I check in. We are in town for a wedding so I am planning to either just mention that and ask about an upgrade or try the $20 tip trick. Thanks for any advice.
