  2. I think I got a decent deal. I believe I have stayed at this hotel before and it was decent. The first bid was for $45 for 3.5* in the airport zone. I then re-bid for 3* and bumped the price up to $48. It was accepted.
  3. First bid was $70 for Riverwalk 4*. They offered me an immediate re-bid if I put in $80, so I did and got the Marriott San Antonio Plaza. Not bad for the Riverwalk area.
  4. I just bid for a hotel in the San Antonio Fiesta Texas region. First bid - 3* - $45 - was not accepted. 2nd bid - 2.5* - $48 (same area) - was accepted. Total with taxes & fees - $63.45. The cheapest rate I could find elsewhere for this hotel is $95 + taxes/fees. I used your PRICELINE link.
  5. I started the bidding with Galleria - 4* and $35. Not accepted. Second bid I changed it to 3.5* and $45. Not accepted. Third bid I added 2.5* and $30. Not accepted. Fourth bid I added downtown and $35. Accepted for a 3*.
  6. We just need an inexpensive overnight stay after our flight gets in, so I bid what I thought was a low price, but still doable with what others have been getting. It was immediately accepted. Holiday Inn Portland Airport 8439 Northeast Columbia Boulevard Portland, OR 97220 503-256-5000 Price accepted: $30 Total Price with Taxes & Fees: $41.01 (Your forums have helped me out a lot, and I didn't forget to go through your PRICELINE link)
  7. Airline Ticket Cost: $255.90 per ticket Airline Ticket Taxes and Fees: $49.85 per ticket Total cost per ticket: $305 4 tickets purchased Connecting flight in SLC I put in a bid for $350 before taxes and it counter offered me the deal above if I would accept coming back on the 13th (I bid for the 14th) and accepting a 4 hour layover (it's actually 3.5). I snatched it up quick. Here's the deal: We weren't sure if we were going or not, because my husband took so long to accept the days that he'd requested (their bid for vacation dates is set up weird). Anyway, last week I'd found tickets for $239 but he wanted me to hold off b/c he wasn't 100% sure about the dates. When we were sure, I tried again, and the cheapest I could find was $400 through Priceline (including taxes/fees) this was through their regular prices. I tried bidding all sorts of bids, but only got one counter offer for another airport that wasn't a deal at all when you included the gas to get there. The reason things went up I believe is b/c we were closer than 10 days out, so I've been trying and trying to find better deals, b/c in the past if I wait long enough I can snatch up some last minute deals, although I've never done that with 4 tickets - not so easy trying to get 4. This morning when I tried, the prices had gone up to $610! That was through Priceline, and believe me, I have searched every other site including direct through all the airlines, and there are no deals, at least not yet. For the past week I've been checking and adjusting the dates also, as we are flexible in leaving a day before or after or coming home a day before. I tried the return trip a day prior and Priceline came up with a deal for $381 per ticket (total) if I were to book a car rental, and this included the car rental. I was relieved, b/c that was under the $400 I thought we were going to have to pay yesterday, plus a car rental thrown in which we need. I booked that only to be told it had changed and they would no longer accept it. Bummer. I tried bidding one more time to see if I could at least get close to the $400 I would have had to pay this past week, and that's when I got the deal above. Turned out great, I saved $380 from what I would have had to pay yesterday, and saved at least 50% of what all the airlines and agencies were offering today.
  8. I have luck having my husband bid and it works for me.
  9. I'm wondering if there is a better time of day or even day of the week when the bids are more likely to get accepted.
  10. I need help identifying this 3* hotel in the Riverwalk North and Alamo area. The amenities show POOL, RESTAURANT, LAUNDRY and TENNIS NEARBY. Thanks.
  11. I put in a 3* bid in downtown Austin for $50 and it was rejected. I then upped it to $55 and added another area which was rejected. I added one more area for $60 and it was accepted. I used the link here to bid.
  12. I first put in a bid for a 3* in the Riverwalk area for $55. It was declined, so I put in SAT area and it was declined. Next I added another area and put in $60. That was declined so I added another area and upped it to $65 and it was accepted. I really wasn't too particular on the area, but I am disappointed when I found out that there is a fee for parking. I used the PRICELINE link on this site to bid.
  13. First bid of $55 was accepted for a 4* in LAX area. 4/28 - 1 night. Total with taxes/fees is $70.19. Oh, I did link through Savings Barn. :)
