  1. $85/night with first try. Priceline listed this hotel as 4*. It should be only 3* or worse. Other 3* hotels could have been better than this one. The room was very small facing the a noisy and busy street (W Hasting). It is just only a few blocks from the "crackheads" area. Be wared, there is a lot construction around the town and next to the hotel. We wouldn't want to stay here ever again. By the way, the parking is very expensive. We got in at 3:00 PM and check out the next day at 9:00. It cost us a shocking $33 parking fee. Ouch!
  2. $95/night with multiple tries. This hotel is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You should definitely show your Mariott rewards card at check-in. If you are Silver member or higher, they will upgrade you automatically.
  3. Tried 4* USE with no success starting at $70 going up to $90 using other free bid zones. Then added USW and tried $96. Bingo! Congratulations, you got your price of $96 for a 4-star hotel room.
  4. Used savingbarn.com for priceline. Got it at first try @ $68/night.
  5. We've been trying to book those dates for 4* hotel in Waikiki, but no luck with my bid going up to $125/night. We don't want to get the OutRigger since lots of people didn't like that place. We are willing to pay upto $300 for the Ihilani area. But that didn't work either. Please help! Thank you much in advance!
  6. Used SavingBarn.com link to use PL. Our trip has to be broken down to 4 parts: Boston, Hartford, Newport, and Boston again. Tried $65 - No success. But the site offerred us to increase our offer by $17. I was cheap, so I increased it by $10. Got the room for $75/night at the Hyatt Regency. Worked both times for the Boston legs. Regular room price for the same dates are $149/night on other travel web sites. We are THRILLED to save some money for the holiday shopping :-) THANK YOU BETTERBIDDING!!!
  7. Used savingbarn.com link to get to Priceline. Got the room right at first try @ $50/night. Checked the hotel web site: $129/night. All other sites (cheaptickets, Expedia, Hotels.com, Orbitz, etc) all have $129/night as well, and their rating for this hotel is 4* not 3* like PL. So, I guess we got a really good deal. G
  8. It was a 4* on Priceline. Tripadvisor has it as 4* as well. But reviews are mixed. People either really like it or hate it. I keep my fingers crossed! By the way, Morgan is in the Midtown-South. Not UWS. UWS has only 2* hotels on Priceline.
  9. Tried $325 - Midtown South - No good. Suggested bid at $476. Tried $350 - Add Upper Westside - No good. Later tried: Tried $375 - Shut down. Tried $400- Add Upper Westside - Got Morgans Hotel. Hotel's official website has it for $489/night. But they do have special rates (coupon code) for their email subcribers. Oh well... This hotel has mixed review on TripAdvisor.com. Either really good or really bad. But all good on Yahoo Travel. I am quite nervous. Hopefully, the room won't have smelly like some reviewers said on TripAdvisor. Thank you much!
  10. My maximum budget is $400/night. Thanks very much for your help!
  11. Hi, I've been trying to book a 4* hotel in NYC - Midtown South for the weekend 11/30/06 - 12/3/06. I've tried all the way from $220 - $325, but got shot down all the way. Is there any other way to find out how much I should try for? Thanks in advance!
  12. It turned out that the organizer for our conference had a deal with the hotel for the friday and saturday of that weekend for the same price ($239/night). And the hotel peopel didn't bother to tell us that. Anyways, we got the room :)
  13. We've already had our hotel booked with the Bellagio from 10/15 - 10/18 through our registration for a conference, but we don't want to spend too much for that Sat 10/14. Should we ask the Bellagio for that one extra night? It is quite expensive on their web site, though (499/night). Any advice? Thanks much!
  14. need a room for one night 10/14 - 10/15/06. Tried the strip and west of strip but couldn't get 4* for $130 (went from 60 all the way to 130). No success with 3* at $60 either. Any suggestion? Thanks!
  15. I tried all the bids from $50 to $75. Got $75/night: 12/22/06 and 12/28/06 -12/30/06 at the Hyatt Regency Boston. Regular price: $139/night. Good deal! :)
