Does anyone have any idea what hotel this is in the DT area? 2/3/08 one night stay 3* $49 Casino, Fitness,Pool, Restaurant? Thanks

Is the place even open yet? They did not get the permits in time to open the hotel for NYE, just the casino opened.

To find your free rebid areas you go to the bidding page (name your own price) and select the city you want. on the next page you check all of the areas in the city one by one looking at the options under these options you will see what star ratings are availabile in each zone,they will be the ones that are not gray any more. Make sure you only check one zone at a time or you will get false results during this test! Write the zones down and all of the stars that are available in each zone. If a zone does not have 4*,5*,or resort availabilty it is a safe rebid for 4*,5*,and resort rebiding. The 5* and resort availabilty are importain because you can be upgraded to 5* and resort areas if there are no 4* hotels availabile, causing you to win a hotel in a area you don't want to be in! Now when you find your rebid areas you start your bidding using the area you want to be in. If your bid is rejected add one of your free rebid areas and you will be able to bid again at a higher bid. When you check your rebid areas you can post them here if you want and some one that knows the ropes will be more then happy to make sure they are in fact rebid areas so you don't make a mistake your first few times. You aways want to recheck your rebid areas each day to make sure PL has not add a new star level to the city you are bidding.

What are your dates?

They average about $18 per day at most of the resorts.

I have never seen the ES South come up.

Checking vacation packages for 11/14-16 I see the Hyatt as a 5* now.

You pay resort fees to the hotel at check out.

You should be able to go into my trips on PL and see all of your winning bids.

We have seen before where a hotel shows soldout and still comes up on a winning bid. The hotel could have a min number of nights setup in there system to get a reservation but still give PL one night inventory.

You are coming to AZ in March when spring training is here and rates are going to be high. Add to that we have very high car rental tax here, almost as much as the rental its self. I think rates are going to get higher as your dates get closer. You don't have a credit card that offers auto rental insurance?

I have never had to pay to park here, there is street parking all around the hotel.

I would try Ka'anapali resort and $125.

PL now lists the Whaler as a condo in their vacation packages so I don't know if it will rear its ugly head again. If $125 was not accepted I think it will take $160 + to get something.

I would try this bid again for a 4* hotel starting @ about $94 and I think you will be a winner. There is a 4* for $119 on Hotwire for 8/31-9/3 ,it looks like the Gaslamp hilton opened up some rooms today. If DT area will work for you?

There is no way with PL to know the hotel before it is won. Sometimes you can have a pretty good idea by others wins but never 100%.

What area are you looking to be in and whats your spending limit? Where will you be staying if your bids fail,do you have a back up reservation? Prices are very high for this night and many hotels are showing soldout.

What was your last bid before the winning bid? The Hilton is the hotel I thought you would get but I thought it would be at a bid of less then $100. There are some lots around the area that charge less but I don't know where they are and I think once you leave the lot you have to pay again. There is street parking around the hotel but you have to pay the meter during the day and at night you have to make sure you are parked on the right side of the street because of street cleaning. I usualy just bite the bullet here and pay up. You got a great location unless they put you on the side of the hotel by the trolly in witch case you better have your ear plugs handy. You can walk to everything from here and take the trolly thats right outside of the door to a lot of places including Old Town and Mexico .

From the looks of prices on Hotwire you should be able to get a 4* DT for $80-$105 per night for your dates. You have a lot of free rebids in SD at the 4* level. Del Mar has a few nice hotels that are 3* and some times can be had for $60-$80. One other thing a lot of hotels in La Jolla charge for parking also.

You can count on this as they even charge Plats on award stays.
