  1. I hope you get the Venetian, she will love the large marble bathroom with the deep tub.The robes are a nice touch also.
  2. 5* is above resort so you wont get a resort if your bidding 5*.You wont get $100 or less at the Venetian until hotwire is $119 or less.I checked out the westin last time I was in town and its a very nice and trendy joint.I didnt see the rooms so I cant coment about them but I like the place and its very close to the strip.
  3. This far out from your stay and rates dont look that bad for the Venetian,Wed and Thur are $200 on hotwire and if you add Fri they go up to $216.From my expierience those are low rates for being this far from your dates.I think you might have a good chance of getting a good rate.I would check hotwire everyday and when you see a rate you like bid it on priceline starting $10 to $20 less then hotwires rate.Dont over bid,you have many rebids for Vegas at the 5* level.Keep in mind most of the time you get the best rates in Vegas the week before your stay. Most of the time when I get the Venetian I get my price the day before I arrive or the day I check in.Dont make a panic bid if you see prices go way up,this happens on vegas bids all the time.In checking Venetians own web site I see Wed and Thur are $189 a night, another good sign.Good-luck
  4. thereuare, once again you pull through with the answer. Thanks for your help and all you do here everyday!Keep up the great since of humor, you keep me lol.
  5. There going to get the best deal around the last week of May or the week of the stay.Keep checking hotwire for 5* strip and you will know what the going rate is for priceline -$10-$20.
  6. Does anyone know if I get a car on hotwire for 7 days and return it after 5 or 6 days instead of 7 will there be any problems? The rates are cheaper for 7.Thanks
  7. I would give it one more try by phone.Try calling on another shift and if that dont work ask at check-in.You might also try calling Westins 800 number and giving that a try.I would join Starwoods program and setup a profile and when you call the 800 number ask to have your number added to the stay.I was also reading in the paper that starwood is testing a new express check-in here in the Phoenix area that lets you swipe a credit card and get your cards without even going to the desk.Call the hotel and see if they have that and ask a few questions about how it works. You might be able to pick your bedding on that.Good-luck
  8. If you got kids there going to love the water slide here,My kid was in heaven.
  9. Looking at that 4.5* in north Scottsdale on hotwire,it looks to be the westin resort. If you want to be safe buy the frist night and confirm its the westin. But before you do make sure the other nights are available for your stay when you put in just their dates.
  10. Yep if its 3.5 sounds like the embassy on greenway but if its 4.5 resort it could be the point resort.
  11. I would use hotwire for this stay if you want the westin because you stand a very good chance of getting the Scottsdale plaza or the radisson if you bid resort in Scottsdale using priceline. The westin is very nice and would be my choice if I was in your shoes.Good-luck!
  12. Some bad hotels could come up if you bid less the 4* on the strip. You may be willing to take that chance but you might be very unhappy with the results.
  13. If hotwire was $121 you could have got it for some where between $99 and $110 on priceline.
  14. I checked out the westin two weeks ago when I was in Vegas. The place is only about one block or less from the strip.I did not see the rooms but the casino/hotel is very nice and if you got it ,I think you would be very happy with the hotel and how close it is to the strip.
  15. If you enter the elevator on the casino level theres a guard there 24/7 checking room keys.If you enter from the second floor you need your key to enter the elevator.I always check in around 2:00 pm and never get two queens w/o a charge when i ask,but I have never called ahead. I always ask at desk.
  16. If all five of you do stay in the same room just give the keys to the two people that dont have their name on the room and the other two that do have their name on room can just get another key from front desk by saying they left it in the room and showing ID.Make sure you add a second name to the room at check in.Hope this helps.Another helpfull idea is if you have a car self park it dont use valet,it takes 20 to 30 mins to get your car back from them and self parking is close to the hotel.
  17. I have never been able to get two queens without paying the $35 extra charge per night that they want. Some have posted that they have without the charge but I would not count on it.They also have a $35 per extra person charge over two. They said nothing to me last time I had 3 people.Your best bet is to bid two rooms. As far as you getting Friday and Saturday for less then $99,I dont think thats going to happen.I have never seen a post for those two nights for less then $99.Sunday you might get for $79 if theres nothing going on in town that week.Keep watching Hotwire for your dates because you will know if Venetian is open for your dates and the priceline price is usualy about $10 to $20 less then hotwire.Check each day by its self so you can see trouble days that will cause problems in your bidding.
  18. Started at $30,rebid $35,rebid $40,rebid $43,rebid $46,rebid $49.Accepted at $49 + $12.44 in fees for a total of $61.44 .This is in the Tempe/ASU zone.
  19. This looks like the point south mountain to me but when the point comes up the customer favorite says something about it being a suite. So I dont think its the point. Also the point is in phoenix but I dont know what area it comes up in on hotwire. It does come up as a option in the packages for your dates,so go figure.
  20. 5* is the only * level that you can bid without the chance of being upgraded to a resort level.Everything else is lower then resort.
  21. Were those priceline bids made right before you took pricelines offer?Good luck, see ya there on the 2nd.
  22. Whats your dates that your going?I dont think pool access will be a problem,I have never been questioned when entering the pool. The only person any where near the pool door is the towel person who could care less.
  23. Yes use priceline because its $10 to $20 a night cheaper then hotwire and the only 5* is the venetian.Every room at the Venetian has one king and a pull out sofa or two beds and a pull out sofa.Dont pay for any extra people!just take your wife to the check in counter and get two keys, dont say anything about extra people and you wont have any problems. If you need extra towels just call house keeping and tip the guy that brings the towels $5.I have stayed here many times w/o paying anything extra for more then two people.just dont have them standing around the lobby when you check in.when using Priceline you have about 6 or more free rebid areas you can use also.
