Sorry if silly question, but is there a way out or is it just like hotel bids: you do bid, it is accepted, you get flight itinerary info, YOU OWN IT, or can you decline (as one friend seems to think) if you decide it is not in your best interest. Thanks in advance.

Too much to do to write more, but think this covers it: Gettysburg 6/8-9 - 2 1/2 star 3rd bid $65 Courtyard By Marriott Gettysburg ..tried lower, but no luck. This is fine though! Relieved as ready to travel and don't like to do bids on road! Cheers!

Priceline - 10th bid the charm! Just when I was ready to accept full or standard, thought last chance as travel in 3 days: $25 premium DCA through Alamo. This allows us to use miles as needed price to be at just under $350.... a big savings to our expenses! So the lesson here is not to give up if time is on your side...Perseverence (sic) wears the crown!

Second bid today: started w/$65 3 1/2 stars, then went up to $68 and won 3 star Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia which I am quite pleased with as a pool, great location and Doubletree is fine.

Always use the link to PRICELINE from here! The dates of the DCA car rental 6/2 - 6/12 and ideally a premium is what I am holding out for....

Started too low at $18 going slowly up to $20. Counter offer to go up to $28, but time to wait once more. Hoping for $21 or $22...Will advise later.

FYI: 6th bid still no luck - started at $55 went up to $60 then had 2 offers to go up to $70 for room, but decided to hold out as there is still time. Will advise when win a bid.

The Liaison Capitol Hill An Affinia Hotel (downtown DC) 4star first bid $60 6/2 only pleased as close to my Union Station where I once worked. Also, investigated parking ($50 at hotel too steep) with a Colonial Parking (202) 298-7299 at 444 N Capitol for $10-20 overnight covered/in building.

Decided not to use PRICELINE to stay in London. In the future will feel more confident bidding in London but first trip wanted to choose the hotel based on their having a pool to work out in. Ha, ha it wasn't working when we were there.

Did not use PRICELINE for this hotel stay. Can't recall why but it just didn't work....

This was one where it was best to use Travelocity which frequently beats all in the Downtown area for $100- the Hilton SFO Financial District. A good hotel, public parking directly across the street and perfect location.

Never understood to just click on quote or reply and yes, do confess, I didn't read all the "how tos thoroughly". Sorry, just a woman trying to do too much which only other woman and a few men understand. I will go back and do my best to recall from the past and I will do everything CORRECTLY IN THE FUTURE.

Ok so I went to the bottom and found my name as signed in, then found my post, and I am responding that it was National Car Rental. For the record: I couldn't find my post any other way. I tried looking under Priceline Ca other and under car rentals for Calif: it was in neither. Is there another way to find ones prior postings?

Assist please - want Hilton Garden Inn Spfld MA 2 1/2 stars Jun 4-8 but fear will be "upgraded NOT if Sheraton" (old hotel/ no fresh air as windows sealed shut). Suggestions please. TIA.

First time visiting London and since I regularly have success with PRICELINE is London any different? Though don't generally have a week; hence, wonder if the long stay can be a negative on bidding. Lastly, when would it be smart to start as don't want to wait too long for sense of securing our plans etc. thanks in advance.... I posted the original. Just took the time to investigate and feel it may have been one of those internet "say the word in the ear of one to see how it will follow". Do not find Priceline anywhere on any of the better links inc the one connected to the state's list of those giving $. Of course if an individual, say a CEO gave it isn't so easy to know. It never made sense that Priceline would cut off its nose to spite its face since the travel industry should surely not discriminate. Lastly, I love Priceline which my friends and family would contest to. So, now I can ethically continue use. Any input appreciated. :)

3+ star suggestions SFO Union Sq W 12/30 to 1/1. Figure NYEve to be higher, thinking I'm stuck as if go for just the night before then try to add NYEve perhaps I will not be able to. Suggestions appreciated. Priceline or Hotwire. :)

Never have used HOTWIRE, and swore by PRICELINE many years now; however, wish to boycott Priceline for their involvement in passing Prop 8. Wish to stay in (3.5+ stars :) downtown LA or Hollywood Dec 30 - Jan 1, 2009. Hotwire suggestions welcome. :)
