  1. I ended up bidding for a 3* hotel. I started with just Times Square for 175, got rejected, then re-bid with zone Madison Square Garden for 180. I won The Manhattan at Times Square hotel. Reading from reviews, I'm a little worried about this hotel. I'm happy with the price, however.
  2. I tried bidding using the whole strategy you posted, and unfortunately, I didn't win. I'm looking into lowering my star preference to 3 or 3.5. I'm interested in the Times Square 3* hotel in the Priceline Express. It doesn't mention the amenities. What hotel do you think this is?
  3. I see a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal of 3* Times Square for $197. Which one do you think that is? My max bid is $200 for the zones: CPS, Chelsea, MSG, TS, and MTW
  4. I'd like to stick with 12/3-12/4. The Lucerne: I was considering that one, too! Where did you find the $228 deal? That is pretty good. MTW: I must have forgotten or something. But that seems like a pretty good area. Let's add it to the list. The Hudson: Since there will only be 2 of us, a small room will be acceptable. Thank you :D
  5. Yes, we only need a hotel for one night 12/3-12/4 because we are staying with my friend in Brooklyn the rest of the trip. I just wanted to experience being in the center of the city for our first night.
  6. Thanks AaronJB! For my last bid, I started around $220 for 4* in the Central Park South location. Got rejected, so I re-bid by adding more zones (ones mentioned above) and increasing my bid by $2 increments each time. Just to increase my re-bidding chances, I included Harlem and Queensborough Bridge. Both locations only have max of 3 1/2 star hotels. I got close to $250 but still a rejection. I didn't want to add any more locations after that.
  7. Hello! My BF and I are going to be in NYC for 6 days. I'd like to get us a nice hotel (4*) around the Times Square area for the first night just for a good experience. The rest of the trip, we'll be staying with a friend. My max is $250 (not including taxes and fees). Is that too low for a 4*? I've been researching through this blog and have tried various tricks, such as adding a zone with lower max stars. Initially, I only wanted to stay in the Times Square area, but I'm pretty much open to areas around it. I just want a room with a nice view :) With that said, I'm interested in the following areas: Central Park South Chelsea Madison Square Garden Hell's Kitchen Times Square Any suggestion for other nice areas are welcome as well. priorities: 4*, max $250, room with a nice view Thank you!!!
