My first bid at $16 for a full-sized car was rejected.
I rebid at $18 for a standard car and the bid was accepted. When I rebid I got the page that said if I bid at $23 I had a good chance of getting the bid and an excellent chance at $26. I ignored it and stayed with the $18.

By comparison - the Avis site priced the car at $41/day.
My wife is on Maui (while I am back at the office!) and needed the car right away.
I used the PRICELINE link from SavingsBarn. Thanks to all the other posters for some good tips.
I started the bidding at $95, then went up by $5 increments on the various free bidding zones (Bothell, U of Wash, etc). My last untaken bid was at $125. My bid of $130 was good for the Westin Seattle for Sun, 8/12 to check out Wed morning, 8/15. I am attending an event at the nearby Washington St. Convention and Trade Center so I was very pleased. The best Internet rate I could find was $233/night so I am happy with the savings.
All bidding activity took place 7/18 at approx 9:30 PM MDT.
Hi,
I would like to keep the room costs at $175 or less. Certainly I like getting a good deal but I understand that New York City can be tough.
I am in need of 2, possibly 3, rooms June 27 - 30 in NYC. I am flexible with the bidding zones. Is it better to go ahead and bid for multiple rooms at the same time, or is it better to bid one at a time? I would like at least 2 in the same hotel if possible but would be willing to split the 3rd to a different hotel.
I would prefer 4* but would take 3*. What would the basic bidding amounts be?
Thanks for such a great site!
I am having trouble connecting to the sites through the links on the Support Better Bidding page. I get the error message that the browser can't find the server at click.linksynergy.com. I have tried both IE and Firefox but cannot get through. Am I doing something wrong on my end or is there an actual problem with the link.
BTW - I love this site. The forum has been extremely helpful in finding great travel deals on Hotwire and Priceline.

I am attending a specific event at the Convention Center so I am not surprised it was slightly higher than the previous posts.
