  1. Used Better Bidding link to PRICELINE and accepted $52 PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. Ameneties include Free WiFi Indoor pool Fitness centre Business centre Pets allowed Restaurant Non-smoking rooms Room service
  2. Used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link. Bid on the Express Deal. And it was the Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile. Pleased with this price for this location. Thanks for the assistance.
  3. Thanks for the fast reply. It's listed at $140 right now which appears pretty good during Just for Laughs Festival. And with your 5% discount code, it's pretty tempting. I wll update on this thread. Cheers
  4. Express Deal, 4.5 stars, rating of 9, Downtown City Centre, lists pets, restaurant, fitness centre, free internet, business centre. Does not list pool which would seem to exclude Sofitel, which would seem to be the only 4.5* in this zone. Any insights? Thanks!
  5. Expensive times. System let me bid again without a 24 hour wait. I must have seemed desperate. Anyway, after previous failure at $172, I started at $175 and increased by $3. On my last rebid zone, my bid of $208 was accepted. More than I wanted to pay but where I wanted to stay. Who knew Nashville had a film festival? Thanks for the advice.
  6. That's a good question. A couple of days ago, $150 was my limit. I did a bit more searching and convinced myself I was a little low for a 4*. This morning, I thought my limit was $172. I could certainly accept the $200/night for one night, but since we're there for four nights, I'm having some trouble coming to grips with it. If Hotwire has a $200 listing, am I correct in thinking I could get something at that level or below on Priceline or is there no correlation?
  7. Looking for a 4* in Nashville Downtown Metro from April 16 to April 20. This must be a big time? I have had bids of $134, $150, and now $172 declined. There is a 4* on PRICELINE EXPRESS at $217. Am I still way too low? Is it time to switch to Vanderbilt area at $127? I thought I had reached my limit at $172. thanks
  8. I tried to avoid that question last time 'cause I don't have a great answer. We only need a moderately sized car so I'm not really focused on bigger classes. Once the price gets above $50 or $60 a day, it's cheaper to cab I think. But when I see posts from people with successful bids of $10 or $15 a day, that's obviously pretty appealing. Should I just start bidding on mid class cars at $10 and see what happens?
  9. Looks like Budget. $28/day for midsize and $30/day for standard. And that's a pretty good deal. It's about 50% less than most of the competition. There will just be two of us and mostly around the city so a standard should be fine.
  10. Guess I'm wondering how many bids I can make or are there re-bid zones (like changing car type for example) etc. I need a car in Nashville from April 16 to 20.
  11. Sorry if this is something easily found but I can't seem to locate it. Is there a "how to" or FAQ for renting cars on Priceline with the "name your price" feature? I have hotel experience but never rented a vehicle.
  12. Using the BetterBidding PRICELINE link, started at $55 and added free zones, increasing by $1 'til my bid of $65 was accepted. Very happy with the hotel, not crazy about being right at the airport (since I'm not flying anywhere) but it will be fine. Cheers
  13. Looking for Burlington or environs on November 2 (Elvis) Using PRICELINE link on the forum, bidding 3 stars in zones 1, 4, 5, 2, and 3. Started at $55 and increased by $5 for a max of $75. On September 22, all bids declined. Made the same bids today and got the Best Western Plus Windjammer Inn & Conference Centre in south Burlington at $75 (For anyone interested, I was declined 3 times for 3 1/2 stars at $105 max bidding all zones except Stowe)
  14. Been looking for a room in Syracuse for at least two weeks. Using the PRICELINE Forum link, I have been bidding on 3 1/2 star hotels in the University zone. I have had bids as high as $92 rejected. Started tonight at $60 and added zones increasing bids by $3. After my first bid, I was offered a rate of $86 but I kept bidding and was accepted at $75 for the Genesee Grand. Very happy with this property at this price. Sometimes patience is a virtue.
  15. Heads up for anybody interested in this property. They have a $20/day "resort fee" that they add on. I wasn't aware of this until checkout so it certainly felt like a hidden fee to me.
  16. Long weekend in May. Based on past bids, I thought I was going to have to spend at least $130 to $140. First bid of $110 accepted. Live and learn. Still, satisfied with this price for this time.
  17. Started at $59 and went up by 10. Hit the Hyatt Regency Rochester. Bruce Springsteen and Priceline just naturally go together. Oh yeah, used the Forum PRICELINE link.
  18. On April 19, using the Better Bidding link to PRICELINE, I started my quest for a 4 star in Toronto Downtown South (which is bidding zone 5): Zone Bid 5 $62 3 67 13 72 16 77 10 82 7 87 12 92 1 97 9 102 2 $107 Refused at $107. Returned on April 22. Still looking for downtown south (zone 5) Zone Bid 5 $87 3 92 13 97 16 102 10 107 7 112 12 117 1 122 9 127 2 $132 Accepted for the Westin Harbourcastle. Which was my preference. So I'm happy. Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce.
  19. Albany gets expensive when Bruce Springsteen comes to town. Started looking downtown. Tried bids of $74, $84, $94 and $104 at 2 1/2 stars. Rejected. Changed approaches. Started looking at the airport region for 3 stars at $67. Added zones at $10 up to $97 and was once again rejected. Signed off, and started again at $95 bidding for 3 stars at airport. Added downtown at $105 and then Latham and was accepted at $115 for the Indigo Albany-Latham. And yes, I used the PRICELINE link from this forum. Thanks!
  20. Good news, bad news... Used the PRICELINE link, and bid on 3 stars in Kingston Ontario. Based on the Hotwire price, and what others had been paying based on this forum, expected to pay $110 or so. Made a first bid of $100 and was accepted. Happy I paid less than I thought I would have to, but a little disappointed knowing I might have gotten it even cheaper with a lower opening list.
  21. Used PRICELINE link on forum Bid Welland region 2.5* at $41 Added West Niagra at $51 Added North Niagra at $61 Bid accepted by Best Western Rose City Suites.
  22. Going to a wedding in St. Jacobs. Hotels stupid expensive. - used Priceline Forum link to PRICELINE - bid for 3
  23. - Used PRICELINE link - Bid $50 on Syracuse University area - my bid was rejected but I was invited to bid again, and prompted to bid an extra $14 – site indicated that if I bid $14 more, I didn’t have to add a region or change dates - rejected that offer, added East Syracuse and bid $57 instead - bid of $57 accepted by Renaissance Syracuse Downtown Thanks to the Priceline Forum
  24. Bidding for two rooms for one night. First bid was $65 and it was accepted at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia At Penns Landing. I
