Hi. Followed the bidding strategies on this site for a 4* in midtown Manhatten for one night on July 20, starting at $120 and using re-bid zones. No luck MTW or UM at $120, re-bid at $130, or re-bid at $135. On my first attempt at MTE for $120 I was given the option of resubmitting my bid for $22 more without changing zones, dates or class of hotel. Stated this one time option was the result of the combination of my zone, class and date. Seeing as I had already been shut out on bids to $135 in other midtown zones I figured I'd put in the $142 bid. I did, and it was accepted. Maybe I could have saved a few more dollars if I held out and re-bid, but now I don't have to worry. Intercontinental The Barclay, $142 bid, $176.31 including taxes and fees. Not so bad considering the cheapest rate I'm able to locate for this property (via Priceline and direct on the resort website) is $299 plus tax. Thanks again for the helpful info. Last year we stayed in the Hilton Times Sq for a similar rate obtained via Priceline with your help.
