  1. I am trying to figure out what potential hotel or hotels fit the description of a Priceline Express Deal for Jacksonville, FL located in the Southpoint - Butler Blvd area. The hotel is listed as 2.5 stars with the following amenities: indoor / outdoor pool, pets allowed, fitness center, free internet, free breakfast and business center. I don't think it is one of the many Extended Stays in the area because it doesn't have laundry listed as an amenity. Does anyone have any idea?
  2. I just purchased a Secret Hot Rate deal on Hotwire at the Baymont Inn and Suites on Bonneval Rd. The property was listed with the following amenities: free breaksfast, free parking, free internet, pool, pet friendly, and fitness center. I was a bit suprised as I haved used Hotwire for the last month to purchase a 2.5 star room in the Butler Blvd - Southpoint area and I always got the Extended Stay South on a Hot Rate. The amenities for both hotels are primarily the same except the Extended Stay has self service laundry. This was a switch, but still a very decent hotel at a fair rate.
  3. I received the location at 4699 Lenoir Ave South. The emenities listed were free parking, free Internet, Pet friendly, fitness facility etc.. Is the Lenoir Ave East a better location? I certainly hope is works out too.
  4. I was looking for a nice inexpensive hotel to stay for a week as we found a permanent home on a job relocation. After painstakingly researching the area, I just booked a hot deal on Hotwire for $35.00 at the Extended Stay Lenoir. I imagine that I shouldn't complain, after all $35 for a room is a great deal by most folks standards. My issue is that I had searched this site and other sites high and low to determine what the possible hotel or hotels might be and had made peace with the anticipated possibilities; What's more is that this hotel did not come up in my research as a possibility. Certainly things are constantly changing and hotels are merged in and out all the time. I was expecting something like the Comfort Inn & Suites, Best Western, Baymont Inn etc.. My read on the reviews for this hotel (Extended Stay) is a mix bag of good to very bad to avoid at all cost, but mostly not very good or favorable. To be fair (and after I put my disappoint in check) I will update this review at the end of my stay.
  5. At the time I bid for a 4 star hotel downtown all of the room rates were up. Unfortunately, I wasn't successful the first day, but patience paid off a day later. I was successful on the rebid the next day. This is a very nice hotel two blocks off Canal St. The only drawback is that construction is going on across the street from the hotel and the street was blocked off. I expect that the construction won't last forever, so I saw it as a minor inconvenience. The hotel staff was extremely nice, accomodating and helpful. The room was nicely appointed and of good size, but the beds are definitely small...it's more like two full beds rather than two queens. I will defintely stay here again.
