I had been monitoring PRICELINE and HOTWIRE for the past several days for a 4* and above in several neighborhoods of NYC (MTE, MTW, ESB, MSG, Hell’s Kitchen, Central Park South, Chelsea, Times Square), and I was surprised to get a rate below $200/night, which I thought was a longshot for a Friday and Saturday night. Before finding this deal, the best I saw was a 4* in MTE for $227/night. I’m visiting friends in Murray Hill, so I’m very happy to get a hotel in my first choice of neighborhood and even happier it’s the Waldorf. Before booking, I re-checked the amenities on this site, so I figured it would be the Waldorf, but I was still happy/relieved once it was confirmed. The advertised rate last night on PRICELINE for the Waldorf on these dates was $349/night (I checked both before and after booking).
