Would love to get a Residence Inn, Embassy Suites, Homewood or similar in the Manhattan Beach area or anywhere in the vicinity. Started with 2.5 stars Manhattan Beach at $50, added Santa Monica $55, added Beverly Hills $58 Went out and came back with 2.5 stars MB with Lawndale at $60 added Santa Monica 62 and Bev Hills $64 All were rejected, so I waited 24 hours and ran the same thing starting at 58 going to 68 still all rejected. I will try again tomorrow. Dont know if its just time of year, that getting a cheap place near the beach is not going to happen, or if its too far off (almost two weeks from now). I will be travelling the week before this stay and would like to square it away before I leave Thursday, so I get two more tries, but I wont go past $75 as Marriott has some $125 rates with $50 "bonus" $ going that I can do if need be, though I'd rather just save the $ up front. We will see. Am up for any suggestions you may have.

Can you try again after only 24 hours? I thought it was 3 days, maybe a long time ago? In any case, we leave this Friday for other travel and may have intermittent internet after that (if at all). But if I can retry every 24 hours, I get a couple more shots. My first choice is Woodland Hills, hoping for Staybridge or Country Inn/suites, I see Valencia might give me Res Inn, and maybe Hilton Garden Inn?, which I can live with. And I have no clue what Simi Valley, Van Nuys or Studio City might offer for a 2.5* if anything (especially since there is always the chance of getting bumped to 3*, though I really just want 2.5). Its just two days, so we can live with anything halfway decent that we can get for a really good price, but I would like to maximize my chances of getting some kind of suite (ie Staybridge or Residence Inn) anywhere in that general area north of LA. I do plan to use SavingsBarn again.

I am looking for a hotel on the northside of LA for 8/11-13. I do not want to be IN LA, but have a lot of flexibility in exact location. I am looking at 2.5 stars with hopes of getting something like a springhill suites or residence inn, though I know there is no guarentee. It looks like Woodland Hills, Ventura, or Oxnard are pretty good. I did Woodland Hills at $50 and got the rebid +$14 option, which from what I have heard means you can usually get it for less. So I added Valencia at $52 still no. Here is the problem, I cannot seem to add the other areas I would prefer, I guess they are a different zone, such as Oxnard or Ventura. So 2 questions, any way to add these areas with my Woodland Hills bid, or it just does not work that way? Two, if I really want Woodland Hills, any suggestions on rebid zones?

Started with 2.5 * Irvine $45 rejected added Disney area at $47 rejected added Huntington Beach at $49 rejected added Seal Beach at $51 rejected added Anaheim Hills $53 rejected added Dana Point $55 and Ta-da ended up with what I was hoping for near the airport (Irvine) at $55. With fees, just under $70 total. Apparently $12 to park, but still much less than the going rate of $109 I used savings barn as well.

Started with 3 * Memphis (East) $42, rejected added Med Center (only has 1 *s) at $44, rejected Tried Memphis (East) 2.5 and 3 * at $44, rejected And finally East and Med Ctr 2.5 and 3 * at $46 and got what I wanted-- Memphis East 3* at $46 with fees etc $60.78 (vs $111 + tax through hotel). Works for me, thanks for the help from your site!
