  1. Oh - and I started by researching via your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links!
  2. Seattle - Downtown Pike Place 11/15-11/17 $145/night The Edgewater - 4* I've been trying Priceline for a few weeks now, and finally decided to bid higher to ensure I got a room. I kept my bidding rate under hotel published rates, so I still feel like I got an OK deal. Maybe I could have waited longer, but wanted to book now so that we can plan our travel (using all mass transportation). I was looking for a 4 star in the Downtown Pike Place location. Started at $95 - Downtown, Pike Place $105 Added Kent $115 Added Lake Union $125 Added Mukilteo - South Everett $135 Added Bothell $145 Added North Everett and finally got The Edgewater
  3. Strange - this happened recently with another Hotwire room I was trying to get help with (you couldn't see that one either). I just searched again and I still see the room. I'm doing 1 room, 2 adults. I put in the dates of 11/13-11/15, Portland, OR, and then unclick all of the star levels except "4 and 4.5 star". I'll try to put a link to my results: Link to results I also have a screenshot (jpg file) but it doesn't look like I can add attachments here.
  4. I'm hoping to get some help identifying this hotel. On Hotwire.com I enter my dates of 11/13-11/15 for Portland, OR and then choose only 4* 4-star Hotel in Downtown Portland This Hotel features the following amenities: Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Free Internet I don't see the Free Internet in any of the 4* hotel options, so that's throwing me off. I was thinking it may be the Benson Hotel, given that their site does say complimentary internet access. I started by clicking on both the Priceline and HOTWIRE links on this site. Thanks!
  5. Now I see it for $164. I go into Hotwire for Seattle via your HOTWIRE link, select dates of 11/15-11/17. Then uncheck everything except 4 and 4.5 stars.
  6. Hi, Hotwire has a 4.5* hotel available from 11/15-11/17 for $146 per night. I don't see a 4.5* hotel in the BB list so I was hoping to get some help identifying. Amenities: Indoor pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Thanks!
  7. Only bid once - $75 accepted. 1/26/12 - 1/27/12 (1 night) Tyson's Corner Westin 3.5* $75/night I just checked their site and rooms start at $209 for this date, so not a bad deal! Started by using the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. Thanks!
  8. Wanted 4* Financial District-Embarcadero only, since we have stayed there several times and know/like the 4*'s we have gotten. 3/25/11 - 3/26/11 (1 night) Tried $75 - Rejected Added Fisherman's Wharf (no 4*) and increased to $80 - Accepted! Hyatt Regency San Francisco $100.17 with all taxes Started by using the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. Thanks!
  9. Thanks! Since parking at the hotel is so high and I'll be going right past Secaucus Train Station on my way, I think I am going to park there (it's only $16 for 24 hours) and take the train in. This way I don't have to deal with driving into NY or the super high parking fees.
  10. Hi - I was trying for a 4* only. Ideally, I wanted Central Park South but when I didn't get that at $140, I dropped my bid and went to MTE. Bidding Strategy: $110 CPS - rejected $120 Add Upper East (no 4*) - rejected $130 Add Chelsea (no 4*) - rejected $140 Add MSG (no 4*) - rejected $125 Add MTE - accepted! Ended up with the Grand Hyatt in MTE. $125.00 bid accepted - total $156.93 with all taxes. I've never stayed here, but it's a great price for a 4* in a great location. If anyone has any parking tips - I'd appreciate it! Of course, I started by using the PRICELINE link on this site. Thanks!
  11. Accepted on the 1st try! $60 for the Intercontinental Harbor Court (Inner Harbor - Downtown) 1/29 - 1/31 (two nights) Total = $144.90 with all taxes and fees Of course, I started by using the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. Thanks!
  12. Yay! Got a win on my first try and at a great price. :) 4* San Diego (Downtown-Harbor Island) 8/7/09 - 8/9/09 $80 per night Omni San Diego 675 L Street San Diego, California 92101 My Offer Per Night: $80.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $29.76 Total Charges: $189.76 And of course, I started by using the PRICELINE link from this site!
  13. Well after quite a bit of looking around today I decided it was worth the risk and ended up getting the Omni right in the heart of the Gaslamp! I figured if I got something out by the airport/Harbor area, I could either keep my rental car longer or take a cab, but turns out I won't have to! Thanks for the help. I will post my win in a new topic. And of course, I used the PRICELINE link from this site.
  14. I'm looking at the priceline hotel list and just wanted to confirm - are there any 4* hotels in the San Diego - Downtown Harbor Island area that are out by the airport? I want to be near the Gaslamp Quarter. From past wins (I checked June - August on the "wins" calendar) it looks like people have either gotten the Westgate, Hyatt or Omni, which all seem to be close to the Gaslamp Quarter. But I wanted to double check before bidding. The last time we were out there we got the Hyatt (which was great). I don't remember the area including the Harbor Island/airport section last time though. Thanks!
  15. Trying 4* Only, wanted Financial District-Embarcadero. I saw that historically, the lowest price people have gotten the Hilton and/or Hyatt for around $80 so that's what we were hoping for. A few days ago - Tried $70 for Financial District-Embarcadero - Rejected Added Fishermans Wharf (no 4*) and tried $75 - Rejected Today - Tried $80 for Financial District-Embarcadero - Accepted! $80 per night for the Hilton San Francisco Financial District. Total $193.23 with taxes, etc. Of course, I started by using the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. Thanks!
  16. My bidding strategy was as follows: Trying 4* Only. $125 MTE $130 Add Chelsea (no 4*) $135 Add Central Park South $140 Add MSG (no 4*) Ended up getting accepted on the 3rd try - $135 for the Le Parker Meridian (Central Park South). Total $165.84 with taxes, etc. Of course, I started by using the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. Thanks!
  17. My bidding strategy was as follows: Trying 4* Only for MTE. $130 MTE $135 Add Chelsea (no 4*) $140 Add MSG (no 4*) Ended up getting accepted on the 3rd try - $140 for the Intercontinental The Barclay Hotel (MTE). Total $170.80 with taxes, etc. We stayed at the InterContinental-Barclay last month and liked the hotel and location, so we were very happy to get that again! Of course, I started by using the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. Thanks!
  18. My bidding strategy was as follows: Trying 4* Only $135 MTE $140 Add Empire State $145 Add Chelsea (no 4*) $150 Add MSG (no 4*) Ended up getting accepted on the 2nd try - $140 for the Intercontinental The Barclay Hotel (MTE). Total $170.80 with taxes, etc. Of course, I started by using the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. Thanks!
