  1. Was planning to finalize this past weekend, but my trip fell through. So did not bid or go with Express. Just wanted to update and close this thread. Thanks much for all the help you guys offer.
  2. Looking into making another trip to NYC for next weekend (09/23 to 09/25). Looked for PRICELINE EXPRESS deal (clicked PRICELINE link from BB) and found 4.5* star rated for $135/night. Wondering if this is the newly renovated Intercontinental Barclay. - User rating 9/10 - Amenities: Pets, Business center, Fitness center, Restaurant, Non-Smoking - Different price option shown with Superior room @ $135 and Premium room @ $145 Still deciding whether to go with PRICELINE EXPRESS deal or bid. Thanks in advance.
  3. Checked this morning and the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals went up to $146 in TS and $135 in DT/WS. Based on your input into the hotel, decided to go for DT/WS area as TS is usually quite crowded and noisy during weekends. Started bidding at $100. Added $5 with re-bid zones until $125. Then bid $128 and got accepted at W. Happy with the result as it's close to the express rate shown on Friday and the property got good reviews. Plus being close to the Subway, easy access to anywhere in Manhattan. For sure I could have waited until last minute, but as the moderators pointed out.. it is never certain if the prices will go down or up. Anything less than $150 for a 4-1/2* property in NYC is a steal.
  4. Thanks for the input in to the possible hotels. W Downtown looks like a nice property for the rate, but yes slightly out of mid-town. With the Subway in the city, I am sure I can make it work. I am going to watch the rates during the weekend and possible try and see if I can do a bid for 4*. I'll report back depending on how it goes. Again, as always... Thanks to you guys for the wonderful knowledge that is available at this site for saving some serious $$$ :-)
  5. I need a hotel in Manhattan for 17th to 19th (2 nights). Was checking PRICELINE EXPRESS deals (used link from BB) and 2 looked attractive in terms of price. Was wondering if you could help identify the property. I am still undecided to either go with Express or try bidding for a property. 4* - Times Square - $137 - Pets, Fitness Center, Business Center, Restaurant, No Smoking - Guest Rating 8.0 (Hotel Mela?) 4-1/2* - Downtown Wall Street - $122 - Pets, Fitness Center, Business Center, No Smoking, Free Internet - Guest Rating 8.0 (Possibly the Glid?) I am also trying to see if the rates are any better if I book 1 night at a time...but then don't really want to change hotels and would prefer to have 2 nights at the same place if possible. My preferred area would be midtown Manhattan close the $125 / night for a 4* accommodation. Thanks for your help in advance.
  6. Browsed thru PRICELINE EXPRESS and saw Financial district had a 4* for $96 for the dates. Started bidding at $80 for Financial, Union Sq East and West. Rejected a few times. Raised $5 and added re-bid zones and got accepted at $93. Final price with taxes etc $114.69. Moderators: Looks like Club Quarters is now a 4* on Priceline? Thanks for all the valuable input that gathered here and clicked the PRICELINE link from here for my bidding.
  7. Yes, i was still getting the 3.5* for $78 for Nov 9-10. Used your link on Price.line and attempted to bid. Started at $55 and was countered at $68. Rejected it, increased to $60 and added Franklin Park zone. Bid accepted at $60 + 15.50 (tax) = $75.50. Quite happy with this win. As always, thanks for the wonderful input you guys provide.
  8. trying to book one night near the airport. Have a connecting flight early morning on 10th. Saw a express deal for $78 with following amenities: Business Center, Fitness Center, indoor/outdoor pool, restaurant, shuttle service and free internet. Would appreciate any input into what property this might be. Is this a good rate or is it advisable to bid closer the date of stay. Thanks in advance.
  9. Been looking for a a while on PRICELINE EXPRESS for prices in Times Square and decided to keep Row NYC that I picked up for $120 + taxes. I did see a 4* in MTW for $102 (could be Sheraton Time Square based on some recent postings), but feel Row is better in terms of location/price paid especially from Port Authority Bus Station. So keeping that reservation. Again always thanks to the team here, if nothing else, reading through the postings imparts a huge knowledge base to secure the "right" hotel for my needs :)
  10. Trying to identify a 4* property on Priceline Express in Downtown Financial District with following ameneties - Restaurant, Fitness center, Wifi, Business center - Bed Choice available - Guest rating 8+ Looking at the hotel list, I am assuming its the World Center Hotel next to 911 memorial, but would appreciate feedback from the experts. Listed at $127 but trying to see if I can go lower and bid as want to stay closer to $100. Have Row NYC for Thu and Fri and trying to find another 4* for Sat night. Thanks and always use the link from better bidding site.
  11. Trying to find a strategy for NYC hotel 4.5* for Apr 16-18 in Midtown/Central Park area around $150. Wanting to know if its too early to bid or I can manage a good deal bidding early. Any advice would be much appreciated. For safety, I am already booked into Row NYC for those dates at $120/night. So if I don't win anything better.. I am sure I will be comfortable with Row. Thanks much!
  12. Saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $55 and narrowed it down to either Sheraton or Marriott Keybridge. Started bidding at $40 and got accepted at $49 for Sheraton Pentagon City. Can't complain as I am here for just one night and need a place to Sleep :-) Used your PRICELINE links to bid. Thanks.
  13. Trying to find a hotel for one night on 22nd Aug in Arlington, VA. Saw Priceline Express Deal for a 4* and 3 1/2*. Didn't see these listed in the Hotel list so was wondering if you guys have any idea of what property it might be. 4* (Restaurant, Fitness center, Free Internet, Business Center) - $71 3 1/2* (Restaurant, Fitness center, Business center, Pool, Pets allowed) - $55 Based on your input planning to bid today.
  14. Saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for $157. Started bidding at $120 increasing the bid by $5 for every zone added. Won at $145.
  15. Tried my luck again bidding for both nights together. Went upto $185 in both zones, yet no luck. Then decided to Split the night and won. Saw Express deal as follows NMR (14th) at $150 Loop (15th) at $157 Decided to Bid each night starting at $120 and added re-bid zones and increased price by $5 and won the following. 14th - North of River Michigan - Sheraton Towers - $135 15th - Millennium Loop - Hilton - $145 Overall Happy with the Price. I just need to change the Hotel on Friday, which shouldn't be such a big problem. :) Thanks y'all for your valuable input.
  16. I am now thinking of taking the Priceline Express as I see $150 for both days.. 1st in North of RIver and 2nd day in the Loop. Before I do that, I am going to give one more shot to the Loop and go up to $175. I just saw a express deal for 4* for both nights (Loop) for $189, so hoping it will work. If the bid is not taken, then will do Express booking. Can you identify what Hotel this could be? North of River: 4*, 8.0 guest favorite, has pool, restaurant, business center, fitness center and pets allowed Loop: 4*, 8.0 Guest favorite, has pool, fitness center, business center and pets allowed. Thanks again for your wonderful input!
  17. Thanks for the input. I was thinking of splitting it but really don't want the hassle of changing the hotels. So was trying to get something for both nights. I have backup reservation at Congress Downtown but trying to stay within $150 range in the loop (if possible). I did try bidding both zones together, haven't tried North of River alone. Should I? So will give it another shot tomorrow for the land will also keep checking how much the express deal. I see right now PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for north of michgan river at $150 for 14th and Millennium for 15th at $157, both are 8.0 guest rating
