Bid on a 3 star hotel for Tampa, Florida Downtown - Historic Ybor - Harbour Island today (July 11th) for 7/12 - 7/15. Two other Tampa areas without 3 star hotels. So, I had three bids. Bid $50, $55, and $60. Nothing accepted. Wanted to nail down the free wifi. So, took the $72 Priceline Express deal using the link here and coupon (BBJUL5) to save 5%. $259.68 with fees and taxes. Got the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel. Very happy.

For reference, I tried a few times to bid on four star hotel in downtown area (could bid 12 times by adding areas without 4 star hotels). Bid up to $90 last week. No luck. Bid up to $70 this week. No luck.

Started bidding on 8/11/2015 in the morning. Started at 45... Kept adding areas without 4* hotels increasing bid as follows: 47, 49, 50, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64. (Yes, there are a lot of areas in Houston without 4* hotels.) The whole process took less than 30 minutes.
