  1. Hello The minimum star rating would be 3. I am not driving this time. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.
  2. Hello Thanks very much for your quick reply. I will be arriving in Chicago on Oct 7, but i don't necessarily need to be in Chicago until Oct 9 to pick up the race kit. I was thinking about going to a town near Chicago and stay (and train) for 2 days and then go to Chicago, where i will leave on the 13th. Is there a nice town around / near Chicago where i can do that? Do you think it will be cheaper this way or it wouldn't matter? I've been in Chicago this January and already know the city (at least all the tourists sights:-) and i would like to know a smaller city. Please, let me know what you guys think and what you would do. Thanks very much
  3. Hello Everyone I just received a confirmation that i've been accepted to the Chicago marathon and now i have to begin the travel arrangements. I already bought the plane tickets to Chicago and i will be arriving on Wednesday Oct 7 and will leave on Oct 13. Can you guys help me find a good hotel at an affordable price (preferably near the start of the race). I still have 6 months until the race, do you guys think i should book the hotel now or wait until June or July? I will be traveling alone and i'm planning on spending an average of $90,00 - $130.00 night. Thanks for your help!
  4. Hello All I forgot one little detail. I'm planning on arriving in Orlando on Tuesday Jan 5 and leaving on the next Tuesday Jan 12. Another little thing. Registrations for the race opens next month and not in July as i said. Thanks Ruy
  5. Hello Everyone I'm planning to run the Disney marathon in Orlando in Jan 16. Since i still have 10 months to plan this trip, i would like to know when it's the best time to bid for a hotel near Disney (i know that Disney resorts are prohibited this specific time of the year) and i really would like a hotel near the park. The registration for the race opens in July and as soon as i get confirmation that i've been accepted, i will buy the plane tickets to Orlando and book the hotel. I would like opinions on when to reserve the hotel and which location is the best. I checked hotwire today and i saw hotels in Lake Buena Vista for $47/night, BUT, it's doesn't have free parking and it also charges a $15,00 resort fee for room / night. This can increase the rate a lot and that's why i would really appreciate some help on this issue. Like i said, i still have 10 months to plan this trip, so, with your help, i think i can find some good deals and complete this challenge. Thanks so much for your help. Ruy
  6. Hello Used HOTWIRE for a hotel in Chicago and got the MileNorth Hotel ($87.00 + taxes / say) Check In: 01/23/15 Check Out: 01/30/15 Two Adults and One Child Thanks very much for all the help. One more question: Can i go from O'hare to the Hotel using public transportation? Thanks Ruy
  7. Hello Thanks very much for your help. The snowstorm really got me thinking, specially because i've never been in Ohio and Wisconsin. My flight leaves Chicago on Feb 5 at 1:30 PM. I was thinking (if i went to WI but im not so sure anymore) to leave at 5:00 or 6am in order to be at the airport on time, but the probability of something going wrong is not little. (opinions?:-) Booking a refundable room was a great idea and i probably will do that, but first i need to book my room in Chicago. I was searching again and i found: 4 stars - Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower (this hotel charges a $4.5 resort fee /day)...$88,00 / day FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower And 4 stars - Magnificent Mile North - River North.....$95.00 / day FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower If you guys could choose one, which one it would be?:-) Thanks Again Ruy
  8. Hello Thanks very much for your help. I was thinking about spending something between $70 to $100 / night, Like you said, downtown might be the best option because because i don't know Chicago and I would like (at least) to go to the Skydeck, the Field Museum and the aquarium (I will be traveling with my wife and my 14 year old son - note: i will have to go to mccornick place from monday to wednesday, but they will have the full free week). I also would like to try the Chicago's famous pizza. After that, i want to go skiing with the family (i heard that WI has some great mountains for skiing, but i haven't decided yet, any suggestions?) where i will stay until the next Thursday Again, thanks so much for your help
  9. Hello NYC was very expensive and i ended up going to Miami instead. Thanks for the help. Ruy
