I never ended up travelling to Maui. I was looking into it at the time but ended up changing plans. The Zone I am looking for is Zone 5 Monterey or Zone 6 Pacific Grove.

I am looking for help with a hotel in Monterey, CA for arriving on 5/13 and departing on 5/16. From what I have looked at, most hotels are close to $200.00 per night. Would like to find something around $135. Is that too amibitious for this area? Looking at Zone 5 or 6.

I am going to be looking for a hotel in Maui soon for end of August. I want to stay for about 7 days, so would like to have a reasonably priced hotel. I thought about all inclusive and vacation packages but all of those seem to be highly inflated. Do you think my best bet would be to book flight and hotel separately rather than package it together?

So with us staying in Deerfield. What do you think our best transportation option would be to get to Downtown. Public or drive and park?

My dates are flexible. I can fly anytime after 8/15. Prefer to depart any date in August and stay for approximately 7 days. I would like to get the fare down around 600-700 per person. Is that unreasonable?

I would like to take my family to Maui at the end of August/Early September. Is there any tips for getting a decent fair. I normally fly out of Cleveland/Detroit but all of those flights are well over $1000. I did look at Hawaiian Airlines out of Chicago and managed to get a round trip flight for 822. Does anyone have any suggestions for shaving that price down any? I will be purchasing 4 airline tickets. Thanks for your help!

OK, so I rebid at 47 and they still declined by offer. So, I just went ahead and booked it at 58. I went on Hotwire and the 3 1/2 star hotels I saw were in the 60's now (I started to get nervous). So, I am now booked for 6/20 and 6/21 at Marriott Chicago in Deerfield, IL for $58.00 per night.

It would only let me enter $58.00 per night. So, I just got out of it. What do I do now? HELP!!!

OK, it rejected my 43 offer and is giving me a one time opportunity to re-bid without making changes. Should I do 45? They have put in a $58 figure? What do I do now?

Any of those hotels would work for me. So, I will try the Price Line bidding for Deerfield, IL at 43. I will let you know what happens.

Thanks for your advice. So, I think I would like to try the North Burbs. We aren't on a strict schedule and are pretty flexible for this trip. Basically hanging out in Chicago area for the weekend. So, what do I just get on Priceline and name my price in this area?

So, do you think it would be better to stay in a close by suburb? I am driving to Chicago, so I will have transportation. I know parking is going to be another expense. I really only want to spend around $100.00 per night. What do you think my best strategy would be? I could go down to a 3 star hotel also.

I've never been to Chicago but will be visiting during the dates mentioned above. I don't know which is the best place to stay. We are going to be site seeing and going all over so it doesn't really matter to me which section we stay. I just want a nice hotel for a cheap price and was going to try the Hotwire/Priceline bidding option since I really don't have a hotel preference for this trip. Does anyone have any insight on which section is the best to stay for the lowest price? I was thinking of bidding $100.00 per night for a 4 star hotel. Does that sound too high? Help????
