  1. Hi there, I followed your strategy but did not want the Astor...so I excluded UWS. I got no winning bids up to $105. Instead I got a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for a 3* in the empire state area for $110 a night I got the Hotel Stanford NYC Koreatown The amenities shown were a choice of bed (twin bed, double bed, or 2 double beds), free internet and one more that I don't remember. However after I booked, turns out breakfast is included as well. Thank you so much...How do I make sure this hotel gets added to the hotel list?
  2. Thanks, The acceptable zones would be: upper east side upper west side central park south midtown west time square rockefeller center midtown east grand central madison square garden chelsea empire state area my upper limit would be 120/night and looking for a 3 star or better Thanks!!
  3. Looks like the prices have come down a little for the 16-18 in manhattan. What strategy would you recommend for a 3 star or better under 120/night The only areas i'd like to avoid are wall street, soho and chinatown Thanks
  4. Yes that is the offer I was seeing...I'm not a big fan of La quinta. I would like to avoid to stay in either a best western or in La quinta. What would you recommend to avoid both these? bid for a 3.5*? I can stay anywhere in Jersey, not just seacaucus area My budget would be $90/night Thanks
  5. Sorry..just posted on the previous post I do need breakfast included. Should I be getting a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal then to guarantee it? Is the $83/night hotel likely to be the holiday inn seacaucus? I would consider giving up breakfast if you think I could get a hotel for at least $10/night less Thanks
  6. Thank you so much...ended up going with a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal and got the Yotel - Times Square which is a 3.5* for $129/night! Thank you so much!
  7. Hi, we are looking to looking to go to New York for a couple of nights but will likely be staying in New Jersey as it is cheaper. We want the cheapest 3* or more. We were thinking we could stay in the seacaucus area as the access to manhattan by bus or train is not bad. Our dates are oct 18-20 but could move the trip 1 day before or after. Would prefer to have breakfast included. From what I can tell, the express deal currently available for that date is the holiday inn at $83/night? Should I be bidding for the same area for lower or do you recommend I do something different?
  8. It's funny, I think the one I was seeing has disappeared. It was a 4* in MTE. And I think the one you are mentioning is only there for a single room. When I enter 2 rooms in the search, the price does go up. The best one I currently see under Priceline.Express is a 4* at MSG for 163 or a 4* at MTE for 165 which comes out to 155 with your link. Could you suggest a strategy to go up to $140 a night? Thanks and I'll keep you posted!
  9. Thanks so much for the details! Unfortunately I tried the strategy and didn't get anything :( I even tried including upper east, upper west, soho, lower east and downtown. I did take out CPS because the Hudson would really not work for us. What do you suggest I do next? I could either try for 3 stars but I think I would exclude ESB area because some of the hotels don't have the best reviews or increase my price and stay within at the 3,5 stars level. I do see a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for a 4 star in midtown for $145 If a 3 star is only going to be marginally less say then I would rather continue trying for a 3.5 and up. Let me know please Thanks!!
  10. I hope i'm doing this right this time... I have read my messages and hope that I'm replying correctly. I like your option 1 Thanks
  11. Oh sorry, my bad, I got confused. So I think I like strategy 1 which is first zone at 4* and then 3.5* for the same zone. That should also make the prices more favorable correct? Thanks!
  12. So how do I add a second set of zones at 4* stars only? If I previously add my first set at 3.5 stars will I not have to add the second set 3.5 stars as well? or do I wait a full day and re-start the bidding? How much do you think I should start at for the first 4 stars?
  13. The higher the better obviously. Initially I was hoping to get a 4 star. But I would consider a 3.5 star as well. My only concern is some of the 3.5 stars don't have the best reviews.
  14. Hi BetterBidding! I'm looking to book 2 rooms for 2 nights in NYC on Sunday June 22 and checking out on June 24, but I'm finding the zones to be a little overwhelming and not sure how to go approach the bidding. I'm hoping to book something under $120 (I'd love under $100) preferably with decent ratings/reviews, convenient location and Free WiFi access at the hotel is a big bonus. The areas I'm most interested in are Chelsea, Empire State, Madison Square Garden, Midtown East, Midtown West, Time Square, Hell's Kitchen, Central Park, Union Square I would be willing to stay in either upper east, upper west, Lower east, Soho and maybe even downtown/financial district if I have to, to stay under budget. If you could help suggest a strategy and starting price for bidding, that would be great... Thank you!
