  1. Sheraton Skyline Hotel and Conference Centre, 4*, one night-November 25, 2006 for US $89 plus tax. This was a great deal as even a 2* in central London was over US $500 for that one night and the 4* hotels were well over US $1,500 (if you could find a room). Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access. Nice large rooms, comfy beds and updated bathrooms. The internet access from the room was GBP 14.10 per a 24 hour period. Desk had a US plug and voltage outlet which made it really convenient to use our laptop. The shuttle is GBP 4 each way per person from Heathrow to the Sheraton. The cab from Heathrow to the Sheraton was GBP 9. However, the city buses are all free. From the Sheraton to get to central London, take the city bus from the bus stop in front of the Marriott (next door to the Sheraton Skyline to the right at the New Road stop) and take bus no. 285, 555, 556 or 557 to the Hatton Cross Tube Station (this takes about 10 minutes). There is sort of a mini bus terminal at Hatton Cross where a lot of buses make the loop in front of the tube station and stop for passengers. Then take the tube to central London (Hatton Cross Tube stop is on the Piccadilly line). To get back to the Sheraton from the Hatton Cross Tube stop, take any bus that says Heathrow and it will stop across the street from the Sheraton (these buses were all free also). The concierge at the Sheraton told us how to do this as he said a cab from the Sheraton to central London would be about GBP 75 and the all day unlimited tube pass for Saturday was GBP 6.10.
