So my bid strategy
Choose 4* and Times Square
Bid
If unsuccessful, add area with no 4*, rebid
Repeat
List of zones with no 4* in area are
Brooklyn
Chelsea
Hells Kitchen
Queensborough Bridge
Upper East Side (Could only give us a 5*)
Is it possible to do
Time Square + Brooklyn then
Times Square + Chelsea then
Times Square + Brooklyn + Chelsea
And use every combination off the different areas?
Thanks for taking the time to reply - I'll have a good look at it just now
Hi everyone,
I'm fairly confident with the bidding system, but haven't had a chance to use it as I've always been happy with Express deals or Hot Wire deals.
I am really keen to get my family a good deal when visiting NYC.
Could someone help with a strategy for
4* or better, preferably Times Square for $150 or less. I can see a few priceline express deals in different areas for less.
Other areas they would stay in are those with would be centrally located, so I'm thinking midtown west, Chelsea area, but really, if it was an excellent deal they would probably take it
The only piece of the bidding puzzle I cant work out is, what zones should be added next when rebidding to avoid ending up in an area which you were only adding for the purposes of rebidding!?
Amenities are not really important, but breakfast included would be a bonus, but essentially looking for a place to leave clothes, get washed and sleep!
Thanks in advance
We have decided to book a condo for this leg of our trip, mainly based on parking
Thank you for all the help and this thread can be closed
Once again my apologies, I think I replied to this thread instead of the one for my personal NYC stay.
This one is for my family and they are staying from
12th July until the 19th of July, requiring 4 rooms.
I would be hopeful of about $150 or so, with a little wiggle room!
Thanks, I'll have a look at that, can't see the family doing that, but money is money!!
Will need to look again at these, as we now need parking included.
This topic can be closed if necessary
Going to book later, as we are unsure on this hotel
Apologies, this one is for family members travelling over for our wedding.
From 12th July until 19th July.
I'll fix those other comments

I've updated the San Fran thread, it was booked this morning after comparing PL express, trying with no success on Price.Line bidding and in comparison with Hot.Wire
For June/July next year, we are going to be touring the states and are about half way there with all the bookings.
I've used the Price.Line and HOTWIRE links when booking also,
Thanks again

My fiancee and I are travelling next year from the UK and want to get booked up early (I'm a bit of an organised freak)
Ideally we would be in the Wharf area, looking for around £50 per night, would prefer a place with Internet Access & Breakfast (a gym etc would be a bonus)
Staying from 26th July, checking out on the 30th July (Thanks in advanced for all your help)

I see, thanks again.
I think, given that it's not a personal booking, perhaps using the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal will be simpler and less hassle!
