there is now also a 4* MTC $127 3/12-3/13
FULL AMENITIES: Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access
which could this be?
85% thumbs up (209 hotwire ratings)
amenities: FULL AMENITIES: Fitness center, Business center, Internet access
SOHO, midtown, tribeca..pretty much the places on the west side of manhattan. but not harlem!
I'm willing to stay Downtown, Upper West side, SOHO, Tribeca, mostly on the east side I guess.
I have only stayed at the conrad so far for most of my trips, so the view hasnt been an issue. I usually call them and request a river view room right away (about $50 more a night)
It was through Hot Rates on HOTWIRE
FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower
The Trump Soho looks a lot like The James.
I will be staying at The Conrad again for March 12-15 most likely.
Figured I would try a new hotel for a night (March 11-12)..I know weekdays are more expensive..
A hotel with huge windows that shows the city and the bed is within 2 or so feet of the big window is a big plus. (so, the greenwich hotel would not work for me)
What should I expect to pay for a 5* hotel that weekend , in the FD? I thought $260 was a bit high for March.
Which hotel areas would be cheaper during the weekday and still offer a spectacular view? (below $350 for the night)
Thank you for the help!
I booked each night separatly as the price came out cheaper that way. ended up getting hotel room (without tax added) for less than $300 a night. Was happy about that.
Got the Executive room- a 700 square feet upgraded room.
This was done through Priceline express (sometimes has room options and their price availabe).
Although, there were misconceptions regarding the room. Hotel had promised river view executive suite, only to arrive there and be told that it does not exist. Ended up staying at a regular room eventhough I paid a much higher price for the executive suite.
Hotel said they could not reimburse me since it was done through priceline. And, ofcourse, priceline could not fix it because it was the hotels mistake.
5* hotel
$324 a night
9.0 out of 10
amenities:
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Pets Allowed
Restaurant
Fitness Center
Free Internet
Business Center
Also, Why are hotels still so expensive? I thought jan-march was a low season?
Hot.wire has gone up to $330 a night, and their tax is a bit higher than PRICELINE.
PRICELINE EXPRESS has it going for $358 a night
I wanted to stay below $300 a night, but I think I need to be more realistic?
I just checked both Hot.wire Hot Rates and PRICELINE EXPRESS through Bidding.helper.com
Price.line has a 5* for $416 and HOTWIRE has 5* for $302
How can there be such a difference? I am 99.9% sure that its The Conrad for both websites since FD only has 2 hotels that are 5*.
Also, will the prices go down if I wait? $416 is a bit absurd but I do not like Hotwire..so I have a bit of a dilemma I guess.
Thanks for the help!

Got the Executive room- a 700 square feet upgraded room.
So, I already won on Priceline the 5* in FD from Oct 16-17 for $306
(by the way, I am 99% sure it is the Conrad since there are only 2 hotels in FD that are 5*)
I really wish to book my stay with The Conrad but they are completely sold out on their website. PRICELINE EXPRESS deals did not have any dates available either.
Now I do see it for an extreme price..and I do not know what to do or how to make sense of it.
Oct 17-18 None
Oct 17-19 None
Oct 17-20 $425 a night
Oct 18-19 None
Oct 18-20 $422 a night
Oct 19-20 $297 a night
So, I can not break up the days in order to pay less and take advantage of the $297 deal.
What do I do?
Well, the possibility of getting the Westin was more than I could pass up, so I went straight to PRICELINE EXPRESS, pulled the trigger and yup, I got the Westin for $151/night! I have limited ability to walk these days, but a few blocks is doable. Thanks so much for the suggestion. It was worth the risk. ;-)
Could you please list the amenities that were listen when viewing the deal?
Best Western Plus Newark airport west is a decent one.
they have shuttles in the mornings and evenings that take you to newark penn station for free. from there you can take the Path train to New york penn station for cheap.
4* FD on hotwire going for $194 oct 17-20

Accessibility
Wheelchair accessible
which might it be?
I am about to purchase it since i'm fearful it will dissapear

2 people
a 4.5* in FD on priceline for $259
amenitiies: Restaurant, Fitness Center, Free Internet, Business Center
Is this most likely the W Hotel in FD?
a 4.5* in FD on Hotwire for $260
FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center,
Self service laundry, Internet access, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf,
Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
Also the W Hotel in FD?
Did have a random question. Are Priceline Express and Priceline Bidding connected? meaning, If Priceline Express does not show a 5* hotel in FD, but, I go and try to bid on a 5* in FD in Priceline Bidding then it will be pointless? (I tried going up to $300 for a 5* in FD oct 17-20) no avail.
full amenities: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access
The 5* deal in FD dissapeared shortly after I saw it for oct 16-20.
I booked the 16-17 deal. They also have this price for 19-20th, which im considering booking as well.
Attempted to bid on PRICELINE before selecting the express deal, went up to $290 ,but, no avail.
Still need to find a deal for my remaining stay of Oct 17-20
strange thing..when I select oct 16-20 on priceline express it does indeed show a
5* for $306 (Pets Allowed, Fitness Center, Business Center)
4.5* for $393 (Restaurant, Fitness Center, Free Internet, Business Center)
But, for oct 17-20 it does not show any 5*,
4.5* for $259 ((Restaurant, Fitness Center, Free Internet, Business Center)
Should I hold off bidding till after the weekend?
5* New York City (Financial District - Wall Street) Conrad New York

The SAME exact deal is now going for $181 a night. I really want to contact them regarding such a big price difference but don't know what to say since its a hot rate.
((I know its the same one because FD only has 2 hotels that are 5* -the ritz and the conrad...so, its automatically always the Conrad))
please help!
