It says 3* on express, not 2.5
I'm willing to pay 134US as long as I know it's a good hotel next to the subway rather than pay a little less on bidding and it could be in a bad spot in long island city.

Used your links, got Hyde at 130, I remember what AaronJB said about that it's quiet but it's ok for me, and the hotel is next to the subway which was an important concern. Thanks to you both!
Up to 120 and still rejected (added long island city as well as all the manhattan locations). Would bidding closer to the travel dates be better (hotels dump more rooms out when they have empty rooms? If so, how many days from the travel date is best?)
Thanks!
Great tips! I'll limit my search to 5/13-5/17 and only NMA, Loop, Lincoln. I tried bidding, was rejected at 85 and tried to use your links to re-access priceline but they could tell i was the same person. How do the re-access links work?
Yup, I'm ok with anywhere in manhattan. I don't mind small rooms as long as the hotel is clean and close to subway. What kind of hotels can I get for 3* at max 120/nite?
Much appreciate the detailed info! I would like to do may 13 to 17 near downtown hyde, lincoln, mccormic, loop, nma and then 17 to 19 at ohare. 3* for both is fine. What should i use as my bid strategy? Thanks for your patience!
Hmm Close to subway is more important to me. Could you tell me how to bid for long island city at a decent chain hotel, perhaps 3*? Thanks!
Good to know! I had assumed all 3* would be close to the path. In that case i guess i would have to up it to 4*. But 150 is a little high. I was hoping for under 120. Would it be better to stay in brooklyn queens? Can 120 get me something decent and close subway?
Thanks for checking! I am flying in and taking the subway everywhere. Thats's why i am trying to stay close toq subway station which rules out the airports and solkie i think. My budget would be under 130 hopefully. Thanks again.
Thank you to you both for the replies! It's a great idea to split up the bids; I had no idea about the convention. I tried the priceline express using the links on the board and it seems that those low prices are all outside my desired area of hyde, lincoln, mccormic, loop, nma. It's my first time to chicago so i was hoping for somewhere close to a subway station and it seems the further away areas may end up being quite far from subways since the areas are so large. Any other suggestions or tips on how I can make sure the bid is near a subway? Thanks!
Thanks for the quick response! Yes, I've stayed with a friend at newport, nj in the past and it's still convenient to nyc so that's why I was looking in this area, hoping to have cheaper rates than nyc. Please let me know if I'm completely wrong and somehow jersey city is more expensive than nyc. My only needs are close to the subway/path station and not too far from nyc like newark. Looking for a decent clean hotel but not anything fancy, that's why I set it at 3* because I don't know what 2.5* would be. Hoping to get the cheapest rate and flexible; willing to pay up to low to mid $100s?
Tried 90 rejected. How high do i need to go?

Finally settled for 130US in LIC using PRICELINE bidding. It seems like a nice new hotel close to subway. Not sure if I overbid though.
