  1. My stay at the Chancellor Hotel was very good. Hotel overlooks Union Square, across from the Sir Francis Drake. Helpful, friendly staff, very clean room. Lobby always has free apples, coffee, fresh cookies and occasionally a popcorn machine going! My room was smallish but had a walk-in closet and extra touches like an umbrella, candy jar filled with hard candy, large bathtub w/bath salts and their signature "rubber ducky". I'd recommend the Chancellor to anyone.
  2. Thanks for the input. I did check on a few websites (ie.tripadvisor, Expedia) for reviews and feel good about this hotel.
  3. It took three days of trying but I finally succeeded. I started around $65 at 4* - 2 1/2* and was rejected - in USE and USW, my only choices. Kept upping amount til I got this one. After reading reviews on tripadvisor.com, I'm happy with this hotel. It seems pricey for 2 1/2 but I'm guessing it has to do with time of year, perhaps?
  4. Okay. let's see if I have this rebidding thing right. I want a room from 6/9 - 6/14 in either USE or USW. So it makes sense to start with a 4 star in either of those areas and, if I'm unsuccessful, continue by adding Cathedral Hill or Civic Center at 4 stars, since according to Priceline's site, they have no 4 star hotels. Am I on the right track?
  5. Either USE or USW would be fine. I just tried $65, from 2 1/2 stars up and wasn't accepted. Guess I'll wait 24 hrs. and try again. I'm not sure what some of the other areas are like (Civic Center, Cathedral, i.e.) and since I'll be a female traveling alone I want to make sure it's a safe area.
  6. I need a hotel in the Napa or Sonoma area for June 4 check in and June 9 check out. Any ideas on how I should bid on priceline? I'd like to stay in the $60 -70/night range, but stay under $100 for sure. Any other towns I should look at? Thank you.
  7. I want to get hotels on priceline in San Francisco Union Square area check in June 9, check out June 14. Plan to spend under $100/night (closer to 60 -70, if possible). How do I begin? Thank you.
  8. I've noticed that priceline has "boutique hotels" available (in San Francisco, for one) - but no stars listed. My question is how do you know the quality of the hotel you're getting if you opt to bid on that category? Some are much higher priced ordinarily than others. I'd hate to bid $75 for example and be given a hotel that lists at $80. Also, is there anything special I should know when bidding for a longer stay, i.e. 10 nights?
