Suggestion: You may wish to see my (Chas) post dated October 4th for the Fort Lauderdale Beach Holiday Inn. You can take a bus to the port, or of course can make other arrangements which will cost more. I believe the number 40 bus, which stops right in front of the hotel, goes directly past the port (I remember seeing a cruise boat on my way to a different location). The Holiday Inn has a concierge with bus schedules, and the phone number for the bus company is on the schedules. Good luck.
3 star Fort Lauderdale Beach, Beach Access, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Business Center is the Holiday Inn. Sep 27 thru Sep 30, $42 per night plus $20.95 taxes fees. Very, very nice hotel. Only negatives, if any, are: pool is very small, and there really is no business center, that is a falsehood. They have some kind of keyboard thing connected to the TV, but it simply CANNOT be considered a business center. However, considering the ocean views from the rooms, and the general quality of the hotel, and the location, I simply cannot recommend it enough. Hint: buses going up and down A1A and Sunrise Blvd make a rental car unnecessary, $2.50 buys you a daily pass enabling you to ride ALL buses ALL day. Do NOT go by the schedule, the buses are extremely erratic, be patient. A shared van from the airport is $8. E-mail me with questions (by clicking my name in this thread you can send me an email)

Thanks for your post on Amsterdam. Was this the total with taxes and fees? If not what was the total per night, please. Thanks again.
