  1. Hi, Wanted to see if using priceline for long term stays in nyc is the best option. I am ok with pretty much any location but should be 3* or better. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. also, new jersey is an option if its close to the path. i was hoping to spend no more than $100 a night.
  2. How do you know its canceled? I didn't get a email? Can I check on hotwire?
  3. Does anyone know what hotel this could be? It offers Complimentary Breakfast and High Speed Internet. For the Vatican Area.
  4. Thanks to thos Hotwire Florence post: I just booked it for $72 from Aug 19 to 21st. Hotel looks good and for the price in Florence, its not bad at all. Hope that all taxes are included already.
  5. Started with a 4* in the same region for $80 but they didn't bite. So, I changed it to a 3* and made the bid of $68. Oh, the price is not a complaint, its a great deal. I just find the location far from the downtown core. What I should have done was changed the region to one that is closer to the city.
  6. Hello, just won a bid for the Mercure Paris Porte De Versaille from Aug 26 to 29 for $68 a night. Not the best hotel in terms of location. In fact, Im a bit disappointed that I didn't do more research. Booked via SavingBarn of course.
  7. Offered with Complimentary Breakfast for $75 Does anyone have an idea what hotel this is?
  8. The dates were for Aug 13-15. Feels too good to be true but I will call the hotel to confirm.
  9. Just won two nights at the Renaissance Prague for a total of $150 US after service fees etc... I think its a steal.
  10. Date is Aug 12 to 13 for 2 ppl. I did check Accor as well and they have the Mercure Mitte for a good deal @ $70 all in. Is that a good location to stay at - as opposed to Friedrichshain?
  11. Available for $50 and offers Complimentary Breakfast and has a Restaurant. Does anyone know what it is?
  12. Followed up on the Hotwire Paris thread. Thanks for the reminder. As for San Fran. I think both Union Sq East or Sq West would be good. My first choices would be Union Sq and then Fisherman's Wharf.
  13. The deal was gone when I checked back. So couldn't get the details.. Case closed.
  14. Hello, Looking to go to San Fran from Aug 25 to 27. I am looking for the best strategy for bidding a 3 or 4* hotel (prefer 4* of course) during these dates in the area of Fisherman's Wharf and/or Union Square. How much should I expect to pay? Thanks.
  15. Will this be the eiffel tower? It seems to be quite cheap for $110 for Aug.
  16. Thanks for your suggestions. I will definitely use Priceline when booking Prague/Budapest. However, for the others, I might check the hotel prices directly and when bidding, I will not exceed that of the hotel direct cost. Have anyone tried booking hotels via Venere.com, looks like they have lots of hotels to choose from.
  17. Hi, I am a big fan of this site and have won a few good deals on Priceline. Wanted to know if there are any best strategies for booking to Europe during August. I have very specific dates (so Im not flexible there) but will be flexible in the area and maybe drop down to a 3 star as well. The cities Im looking for are: Berlin Prague Budapest Vienna Venice Florence Milan Paris What does everyone suggest as the best starting bid? Is the best bet to look at what others have won (ie. Prague @ $110 etc) and bid accordingly? Thanks in advance, :)
  18. I tried but kept getting rejected. Surprise too because others have gotten May 27 for $170 etc. So, I decided to give up this process and book the May 27 at the same hotel that I won for the 28-30th at the W Hotel. There is a deal going on now for $239 a night.
  19. Congrats. Thats strange because I just tried MTE/MTW for May 27 and was rejected.. I went up to $145.
  20. Yup, like Blueskies said. Started bid on $55 and then re-bid at $65. It still comes up to $85 after taxes.
  21. OK - DONE. Thanks for the help, I went through savingsbarn.com of course. I started with $55 and then went straight to $65 and got the InterConti - NOT BAD at all. Now, I just need help with the NYC on May 27!
  22. Both at the same time if possible. Mtl first - I guess.
  23. Hi, I am looking for a 4* hotel on Thursday night, May 18 in Downtown Mtl. Do you think I can get it for under $70? Thanks.
  24. Yes, all locations in NY will be fine. MTS, Downtown, MTE, MTW, UM Thanks.
