  1. Yes, Inn of the Governors. Thanks!

    Congratulations on your success!

No need to re-post as we've edited the topic title of this thread to reflect your win as well as moved the entire thread to the PRICELINE section of the board.

It wasn't clear from your post, but we've added "Inn of the Governors" to your topic title, can you please add a reply to this thread confirmning that this is the hotel you received?

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.

    Enjoy your stay.

  2. Decided to risk bidding on Priceline to pinpoint this hotel (only Inn of the Governors and Hilton appear to be 3 and a half stars in Plaza area.) Bid Santa Fe Plaza and vicinity, 3 and a half stars, $65. Not accepted but Priceline offered rebid of $17. Added Santa Fe South area and rebid $71 per night. Success! Used PRICELINE link here. Should I also post in Priceline forum? Thanks for all you do.

  3. Patience is a virtue! Bid this morning 4* Chicago NMA-River North. Accepted first bid of $77 and got Wyndham Chicago. Really excited because it was exact property I wanted at a good price. Total was $96.24 with taxes and fees. A little concerned about parking as they did mention valet only when I called to express room preference. Any reasonably priced parking ideas in that area? Thanks again to all...

  4. You are all the best! I assumed the 3 star in Oakbrook for $65 was through Hotwire so I checked there and found one listed at $52 for night of May 7. Booked through HOTWIRE link on this site which turned out to be Holiday Inn Chicago Oakbrook for a total with taxes and fees of $62.46. For second night I have made reservation at Comfort Inn and Suites Downtown for a AAA rate of $151. Seems to include breakfast. Not sure if I will keep but would prefer to be downtown that night and gives me something until I decide. Cheers! :)

  5. Since prices seem so high at the moment I'm rethinking this a little bit. Can anyone recommend a hotel maybe outside the city (prefer south versus O'hare area) that still might be easy to go back and forth from? I see that some are listed around Midway but not super familiar with area. (However I book I will definitely go through the links!) Looks like I will be there nights of both May 7 and 8 and would prefer at least 3 star level.

  6. Hi all. Have to go to Chicago next week last minute to stay overnight May 7. Might also need May 8 but just worried about May 7 at the moment. Best I have seen is Radisson at $180. Any bidding suggestions? Help? I don't usually have to stay in cities mid week and realize I am dealing with business traffic. I am willing to go to $150 but would prefer $100-125 range. Really, really want to stay in NMA area but am somewhat flex if deal is right.

  7. Hi friends. Yes, I meant midtown! Just a slip of the brain. Ended up checking out the Eastgate Tower on Tripadvisor and searching that site for deals. Liked the reviews and found a studio suite at Eastgate on Travelocity for about $119 a night! Ended up booking for a total of $1124 with taxes and fees for eight nights. Seems like just the right place for a longer work trip. Didn't need anything romantic and plush this time! Other nice thing about the Travelocity GoodBuy is you can cancel up to a day ahead with just a one night penalty and some change. Obviously can't do that with Priceline which is always a drag. Thanks as always for all your help. I'll be back...

  8. Are you saying wait 24 hours and try the same bidding process all over again- or wait 24 hours and then try splitting the dates? Thought I was locked out for 72 hours if I don't change dates so I'm just trying to clarify. Also, what is best way to split dates with regards to weekend dates, etc.? I'd certainly consider Jersey City if you think I have a chance of landing something like the Hyatt Regency... I'm not really familiar with other hotels in that area. Thanks for all you do. :)

  9. Aarrgghh. Am a little frustrated. Started bidding per strategy last night. First bid of 4* MTE at $120 was returned with offer to increase by $22. Thought that was a little high so I closed browser and tried next step of 4* MTE at $125. Took forever and then employer credit card was rejected. Went to sleep. Tried all strategy steps today and no luck- even up to $160. Now wish I had accepted increase offer! I can break up this trip as I am just going to the area to do academic research. Maybe the holiday weekend is messing this up? Any suggestions appreciated... Thanks.
